I can't have a conversation with my friends while I have this problem.
So I have the sennheiser pc 363d headset, the mic volume has to be set 100 volume or I can't be heard. However windows 10 keeps automatically turning down my mic volume from 100 to 90 and lower making me mute.
Is there a way to stop Windows 10 from turning down my mic volume?
The microphone on the Beyerdynamic MMX 300 is quite loud and sensitive, so I decrease the input volume by 30% in the recording devices menu, but regardless of disallowing access to it from other programs e.g. Skype, it always seems to change back up to 91% after awhile. I'll attach screenshots of the settings I've changed in Skype/recording devices. How would I completely prevent the volume readjusting itself?

Windows 10 is also set to normally schedule reboots for when you are away from the computer. Is there a tool available to stop Windows Update from automatically rebooting your computer?

I have an HP dv6 with switchable graphics and I only want to have the Intel HD 3000 graphics working because whenever I install the drivers for the Radeon graphics the laptop will not boot into windows on the next reboot.I have uninstalled the drivers but it keeps re-installing it and the screen flickers every time it installs it.
View 1 RepliesWhy can Microsoft understand I don't want to use these POS Realtek drivers. I use to disable driver updates from Windows 10 by going into Device Installation settings and Never install drivers from Windows update but now since the last stupid update everytime the POS Realtek drives install automatically no matter how many times I roll back and remove them. I hate the Realtek drives because the audio is super loud and sounds terrible. I just want to use the Microsoft HD Audio Driver which sounds great and uses little resources but no Windows 10 decides that the POS Realtek driver is better.
View 7 RepliesJust like the title says, I don't want the realtek audio drivers as it completely messes with my audio and also doesn't correctly switch when i plug in headphones for example.
It also doesn't allow for the 'speaker fill' enhancement to be used when playing stereo content through surround sound.
Windows itself does a far better job as opposed to realtek.
Every time i uninstall realtek it automatically gets reinstalled.
I was wondering whether it were possible to open the volume mixer instead of the volume control when left-clicking on the volume icon in the tray. At the moment I have it set to open the old classic menu, but not the volume mixer.

View -1 RepliesSo, earlier today (after having been gone for the last week on a trip) I installed a update for my Windows 10 computer. After the update (and it seemed like a doosy) the system worked fine for about 5-10 minutes and so I set about doing the usual disk cleanup. During this though Windows Defender turned itself off. Attempts to open the program either result in a window that just reads that the app is 'turned off' and isn't monitoring the computer.
Following the tabs on the 'action center' pull out seem to open up the Defender tab properly and allows me to turn it on...but then it turns itself off again after a couple of seconds.
I'm not currently running any other kind of virus scan/spyware protection software on the machine atm. Aside from just installing new anti-virus software.
I'm presently using (running) Avast Pro and Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit-Free, with weekly running of CCleaner, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, and AdwCleaner. I do a lot of browsing and haven't had any problems with this approach. However, I got the hankering to also keep Windows Defender up-to-date and to occasionally run its scan just to see see if anything comes up.
So, I go to WD with the expectation that it is turned off and find that it may not be. I would go to update&security>windows defender and find, to my surprise, that real-time protection and cloud based protection are turned on, but grayed out. Furthermore, when scrolling to the bottom of the screen and clicking Open Windows Defender, I get the message that "WD is turned off and not monitoring the computer." I then went to Brink's WD tutorial (Windows Defender - Turn On or Off in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums)
This started yesterday, I can use the windows searchbar ONCE, then later on it will not work until I restart my computer, I cant open the adjust menu where I change my background and windows theme. My sound is randomly turning off, I've tried different headsets so that's not the problem.
I feel that my windows is overall not working like it should, Is there a way I can go back to Windows 7 or some update I've missed? I just noticed I cant play youtube videos either
I tried getting windows 10 and when it decided to reboot and update it goes through the Nokia logo and to gears where it spins for a short while then turns itself off. I have tried using the different reset methods multiple times but to no avail. I don't even get the exclamation mark. I have a Mac Book Pro and tried the beta NSU for retail but it wont even recognise my device. Phone was working fine until update... Is there a solution, other than getting a new phone?
View 5 RepliesI have toshiba l50-b-235 laptop with built-in Onkyo stereo speakers, enhanced by DTS Sound, Skullcandy certified and now all of sudden since upgrading to windows 10 from windows 8 the volume is really low (it has dropped around 50%). what can i do to fix it.
I went to device manager and sounds but underneath i can only see conexant smartaudio hd now (this came only after upgrading to windows 10) and i have uninstalled and reinstalled it already but of no success.

View 1 RepliesShortly after the "Get Windows 10" icon appeared in the system tray of my Win 8.1 installation, I made the mistake of clicking on the "Get Windows 10" icon and "reserved" my copy of Windows 10. After some research, I elected to cancel my reservation for Windows 10 and did so by again clicking the "Get Windows 10" icon and going through the process to "cancel" my reservation. (I subsequently read Brink's fine post on "Get Windows 10 Icon -Remove from Taskbar in Windows 7 and 8.1" and did option four to uninstall the KB3035583 update). Now when I go to windows update and "search for updates", the search result is "install windows 10" though it does allow me to view "all available updates" which includes numerous "important" security updates as well as a few "optional" updates, one of which is Windows 10. I select the "important" updates, deselect the optional updates (including windows 10), and click install then get a dialog that "Windows 10 setup files are being downloaded" and an option to "cancel" (which I do). How do I stop Windows Update from downloading Windows 10 setup files and just download the "important updates" to secure my present installation of Win 8.1?

In this case I want to mirror the contents of an entire disk containing photos (no system files) to a shared folder on an OpenMediaVault server running on my home network.
This is separate from the regular backup of the rest of my system which is done with backup software. For the contents of this disk, I don't want them compressed into a backup container file. I want them to be exact duplicates of the original files, kept up to date in that shared network location (login required).
Also, it doesn't matter if they update in real time. Once a day is fine, for example.
I already have my pc updated with windows 10, I recently upgraded my hard drive with a samsung 850 pro ssd but i discovered that my recovery partition no longer works and when i try to do a system image windows says it cannot do it because files are missing . I used the samsung data migration software that came with my ssd, when i go to disk management it shows my three partitions which are
500mb recovery partition
260mb efi system partition
windows c 476.18 gb ntfs , boot,page file, crash dump, primary partition
My question is if I do a clean install of windows 10 will these partitions be created again during the windows 10 installation automatically or will I loose some . I want to be able to recover my pc should I need to and have everything working. Someone suggested that I don't need a recovery partition and windows 10 does not create new partitions .
I don't know what the efi system partition is and don't know if i need it . i have watched some youtube videos of people doing clean installs of windows 10 and they all seem to differ . during installation when given the choice of where to install windows some people delete all the partitions on their hard drive while others pick which one .
plugged in USB thumb drive opened windows explorer right clicked drive scan with windows defender and it said scanning pc but it never shows any options so I dont know if it scanned pc or usb for sure why or not

View 2 RepliesI turned on "Windows Spotlight" in my Lockscreen settings (Personalization) for a while but then wanted to go back to selecting my own background image. I can select an image, but a few hours or a day later the windows spotlight images come back again. The selection in Lockscreen still says "Image", but the image has changed to a lockscreen one. If I again select my image, it only holds for a while, then reverts to a spotlight image.
If I could find the Windows Spotlight service or exe or task I would disable/delete it, but I can't find it.
I have a limited data pack so I want to stop my Windows 10 PC's automatic updates. Is there any way to do this?
