Oct 7, 2015Here is my problem: I keep my folders in different settings, some with large icons, some with details view.
Today they are all reset to details view, and items are listed by name. Every folder is reset to the same settings. When I try to change they always defaults to details view. Even when I go to another folder and press back, the settings are already reset.
Also, icons on desktop are keep returning to default state (big icons), I keep them smaller, when I hold ctrl and scroll mouse wheel they become smaller, but next time I reset windows they return to default (big icons) view. I already cleaned shellbag in regedit, reset windows but it is still the same.
I saw this other theme with similar problem, but I am not using Eset, I use Kaspersky.
Also I don't have this key in my registry :

Sep 10, 2015New in Windows 10 the file explorer opens in documents folder no matter which folder is clicked on. Open with in context works ok. Windows 10 is an update of Windows 8.1.

Nov 15, 2015Today,my laptop was awfully slow. When I booted it up it would say "Scanning and repairing D: drive 100%" but this didn't work with anything. When I went to "This PC" to see my D and C drives, my C drive was perfectly fine and it was showing how much GB it has left (___ GB free of ___ GB) but for the D drive it didn't show how much GB it has left. When I try to open it, windows explorer folder would not respond. The green bar which shows your progress of loading the folder (I don't know how to explain) would keep going and even if it reaches the end, D drive wouldn't open. Most of my games were in my D drive and now my laptop is really slow. It takes like 1 minute for chrome to start up.

Aug 18, 2015Every time i go to rename a folder in explorer it keeps jumping to the top. I researched thru google and someone mentioned to go to Personalization, Color then choose Automatic pick an accent color from my background and turn off, so far thats working.

Jan 4, 2016When I try to move files from one folder to another the left scroll bar snaps to either the top or the bottom almost every time I move a file. This is making trying to organize my files extremely frustrating. This issue was addressed on another online forum so I know it's not just me that this is happening to. In that forum it was suggested to turn off the screensaver slideshow & that worked for some people; however, all I'm using is a plain black screen.

Aug 13, 2015Lenovo Thinkpad R500 - Touchpad scroll works in Internet Explorer, Firefox, File Explorer, Device manager and some other places, but it does not work in Start menu or any menu under Control panel, Edge or Windows Store - no matter what I have tried it simply will not Scroll - There is no doubt this a BUG.
I'm guessing it a bug in windows registry, but don't know where to find it. I have been through most that has to do with ALPS. Where the registry settings for the MS software scroll option are.
Touchpad/Trackpoint: ALPS UltraNav 2 - I have the newest driver from lenovo an ALPS don't have driver download available. But can't see how its a driver issue when it works in Device manager and the other places.
I tried getting MS support engineers at MS forum, to take a look at it, but they have this attitude that its driver issue and not Windows bug. Besides that, they never read the question before dishing out some standard solution like "try going to safe mode to see if the problem persist" - That is not going to work, since the drivers that control the scroll will not load in safe mode and then scroll will not work at all, a "real" technician would know that.
Scrolling right now in Firefox - If i go to Edge or Store, its not working.

Nov 4, 2015They changed mouse scroll to scroll next/previous instead of zoom. I use a Logitech mouse with Setpoint installed and because of Setpoint smooth scroll, it scrolls through several photos on one scroll. Turning smooth scroll off, it doesn't always scroll next when the mousewheel "clicks". Another thing with my Logitech mouse is that I can't use the forward/backward buttons. They function as left click. Double click any and it zooms in. I can't change Setpoint settings per app because Photos isn't really a typical exe app like Notepad.
The last thing is that it seems to sharpen the photos even when I turned auto adjustments off. Compare Photos to Firefox and even Windows Photo Gallery and you'll see.So far, Windows Photo Gallery seems like a good alternative, except it doesn't play gifs (unless you click next frame really fast).
Downloads Folder Won't Automatically Refresh
Sep 14, 2015I have my downloads folder sorted by "Date Added" (newest at the top) and whenever I download a new file, the file will always goes to the bottom (when I have the Downloads folder open as I click download). I then refresh the page and it goes to the top of the list, where it's supposed to be.
Is there a way to make the newly downloaded files go straight to the top of the list without having to refresh the downloads folder?

Aug 14, 2015Not sure if this is the right place to ask but i have some problems with windows 10 since upgrade (I've had this problem since earlier build).
Everytime background changes, explorer will automatically refresh (or so i think)
For example, my i'm initially at the bottom of a folder like this notice the scroll bar is at the very bottom.
After my background changes, it will be dragged all the way back to the top like this . It's really annoying every time I navigate through folders with a lot of items. Is there anyway to fix this other than stopping the slideshow all together?
Get Back After Recovery Brought Back Windows 7?
Oct 10, 2015I was running Windows 7 and upgraded to Windows 10. I lost no data or programs or pictures, etc. Windows 10 worked fine for about a month and then developed a "restart required" loop. After several attempts I tried the Recovery option, thinking it would take me back to a restore point as in Windows 7. Instead it took me back to Windows 7 and all data and programs (other than the Windows 7 default programs) are gone. How can I get back to either 7 with my data and programs or 10 with my data and programs?

Nov 16, 2015Slip of the keyboard. I unpinned the folder icon that comes standard with Win 10 on the taskbar. I replaced it with File Explorer but it's not the same format. The folder icon that comes with Win 10 on the taskbar brings up the Libraries on the left, then the right side, I think, had folder and file listings. Don't remember - I did this about a month ago.

Aug 15, 2015I downloaded Windows 10 on release and despite its flaws, I actually like it.
I am finding an issue with Explorer though. I've noticed that the preview image icon for folders doesn't resize itself to fit within the folder preview section, so if the image I want to show as a preview on that folder icon is tiny, it'll show as being tiny in the preview with loads of blank space around it, for larger images it does seem to fit in, though if the image is longer than it is wide than it'll cut the bottom bit off. This wasn't the case in previous versions of Windows and I presume it can be tweaked in the registry.
I'm using a 4K monitor and Microsoft have improved the scaling in this OS, but it's still not exactly brilliant. Third party software is the main culprit tbf.
