Toolbar Frozen - Keyboard And Mouse Just Fail Randomly

Aug 13, 2015

I upgraded to Windows 10 today and nothing works. The toolbar is perpetually frozen and can't be used for anything. Alt tab and Ctrl-Alt-Del only work occasionally. My keyboard and mouse just fail randomly and I have to plug them in and out to get them working again. Search function doesn't work. I haven't been able to get any Windows 10 programs to work. I can't even revert back to Windows 7 since I can't access settings due to the toolbar being frozen, and trying to access it from My PC causes my computer to freeze.

At this point I'm really just looking for a way to revert back to windows 7.

Shortly after I finished writing this post Chrome stopped working too so I'm on mobile now.

Drivers/Hardware :: Frozen Keyboard And Mouse At Login Screen

Jan 23, 2016

Recently I upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 however this caused several issues with my laptop so I reversed the upgrade back to 8.1. My Kaspersky AntiVirus would then not work leaving just a blank logo on my desktop. I tried to uninstall kaspersky using the uninstall programme available on their website but upon restart I can no longer get past the login screen as I can't use my keyboard or mouse to enter my password. I can enter a screen that allows me to select safe mode but again I can't enter my password. I have a Dell restore USB but this will not work. I have tried USB mouse and keyboard but no luck either. I cannot preform a restore at all.

Mouse And Keyboard Randomly Stop Working For A Few Seconds

Sep 19, 2015

My mouse and keyboard were doing fine with Windows 7, but after I upgraded to Windows 10, my wired mouse and keyboard have been prone to just randomly stop working for a few seconds before working again. When it happens to my keyboard, what key I had been pressing would be typing over and over again, while my mouse is stuck in place (screen is not frozen, videos keep playing, etc). In addition with the windows 10 upgrade, I also got a new graphics card at the same time, but I don't think a graphics/video card could be responsible for this kind of thing, right?

Hardware Information:

Mouse: Corsair Raptor m40
Keyboard: CM Storm QuickFire Rapid
Graphics Card: Sapphire Dual-X R9 270

I have no viruses/malware, and when I go to the devices manager and try to update the "HID-Compliant Mouse" driver online, it seems like it's the recent driver. Same for the keyboard. Therefore, I'm leaning to the Windows 10 to be the culprit, but I'm not too sure.

MS Keyboard And Mouse Driver Not Working For Left Handed Mouse?

Aug 7, 2015

I use left handed mouse, and swapping left / buttons works OK. I also set the wheel button to be "double click". But the wheel button brings up the context menu instead of double click. If I change to right hand mouse, the wheel button gives double click as expected. how to make the wheel button give double click for left hand mouse?

Keyboard Layout Selection - No Mouse Or Keyboard

Dec 21, 2015

Okay, so I take blame for accidentally messing up my Windows 10. My NVIDIA graphics card wasn't working and wasn't letting me install my drivers. Well that aside, now that I installed older Drivers Windows 10 registers something horribly wrong. It wants to do a system repair. Okay, good, fine with me. But then when it gets to the page for me to select a keyboard layout, I have no mouse and my keyboard doesn't work either.

Anytime I press a button on them their backlights turn on, but then turn back off when I don't do anything with them.

I can't afford to get a new OS, I have no DVD Drive so I definitely can't do anything that requires a disk. What do I do?

Remove Toolbar Label / Just Show Toolbar Icons?

Aug 7, 2015

URL...How do I remove the "Audio Contol" label and just show the icons of the programs? In windows 7 I could just click and drag, and it stayed through my first windows 10 install, but I reinstalled today to fix a bug and now I can't accomplish this.

Mouse Keeps Disconnecting And Reconnecting Randomly?

Sep 20, 2015

So recently I've been having this issue where my mouse keeps disconnecting and reconnecting for about a second randomly. It doesn't happen too often, but it's enough to be annoying. I'm currently using the Logitech g100s with the Logitech gaming software installed, but even without the software it still randomly disconnects. I have a feeling it might be the mouse cord because I've been using the mouse for about a year and a half and it could be wearing down, but I can't really test this assumption out because I don't have any other mouse to use. Plugging it into other USB ports doesn't resolve the issue either.

Mouse Cursor Has Randomly Enlarged And Has Lines Going Through It

Jul 15, 2015

As the title says, my mouse cursor is behaving strangley, it has lines going through it and has enlarged itself. I've not modified anything in the cursor options, I've even click on default settings, restarted my PC ect and it's still not reverting. The strange thing is, if I log out of Windows, the cursor goes back to normal, but as soon as I log back in

It used to look like this:

Whereas it now looks like this:

Drivers/Hardware :: Keyboard / Touchpad Stop Working Randomly?

Jan 12, 2016

This has happened a lot since my upgrade to Windows 10, and it's really starting to get on my nerves. Seemingly randomly, my keyboard will stop responding to what I type, and my touchpad completely stops as well (no, I did not accidentally click to disable it). These problems will never resolve themselves on their own, but as soon as I reset the computer everything works again - to me, that sounded like a driver crash, but nope! I checked the driver menu and it told me everything was running just fine. What's even more strange is that I have the backlight keyboard enabled so that when I type, it lights up. And strangely, the keys still light up when I press them, so I know it's registering my typing SOME how.

You would also think that this would be a software problem since it fixes immediately upon reset, but I've noticed that this issue seems to crop up a lot right after I have moved my computer..

In order to possibly do testing on what is causing this (I've tried everything I can think of) I am purposely not resetting my computer (this is a touch screen, but this on-screen keyboard typing is obnoxious). Currently, both keyboard and touchpad don't work, but a usb mouse I use does (the computer is also set so that using the usb mouse does not disable the touchpad).

Now Keyboard And Mouse Won't Work

Aug 11, 2015

I have a Dell XPS 17 laptop. Worked great under Windows 7. Tried Windows 10 but was unable to get the wireless LAN driver to work, so I went back to Win 7 via the official "Go Back to Windows 7" option in Windows 10 - now the keyboard and mouse won't respond after start up. They work fine in the bios, but are completely unresponsive on the login screen - even when I boot in safe mode. No USB ports work, so I can't try another keyboard/mouse. Was going to reinstall but I'll lose the existing data. Now I'm going to have to pull the drive and copy over manually, then reinstall. Last thing I was going to try was disabling EVERYTHING in the BIOS just in case there was some kind of weird IRQ conflict, etc.

Waking Up Laptop Through USB Mouse / Keyboard?

Aug 28, 2015

Whenever my laptop goes to sleep, the only way to wake it up is through the laptop's keyboard (pressing any key on the keyboard). But when I press the USB keyboard or the USB mouse, it doesn't wake up.I use my laptop mostly as a "desktop": I connect it through an HDMI cable to a larger 24" monitor, and the laptop is lying closed in the corner. It is just annoying to open the laptop and press the keyboard.. not a big deal, but if it's possible to change that it will be good !

Installation :: Cannot See Mouse Cursor Or Use Keyboard

Sep 13, 2015

So my computer started running a bit slower then it should be, at the point where my computer to open would take half a min, so i did fresh install. So i left installation overnight, i wake up in the morning and it say "Hi there" installation menu where you choose Country, language, keyboard layout and timezone, but it's totally froze, i can not see mouse cursor or use my keyboard, if my monitor goes to sleep i can't turn it on back. I did read that it's problem with drivers not installed. I've tried restarting pc few times. Is it true that problem is with drivers not installed correctly or at all?

Installation :: Keyboard And Mouse Not Recognized

Dec 10, 2015

I recently re-installed Windows 10 on my Asus X205TA notebook using the ISO on a USB stick. It installed without a problem, but when I boot the computer now (first boot after installation), the OS does not recognise the keyboard and the mouse, so I cannot enter the required data to proceed to the next screen..

Seems like the required drivers are missing, and I am thinking a re-install may be necessary, but how to get the keyboard and mouse drivers included (inserted?) in the installation process?

Mouse And Keyboard Don't Work - No Cursor

Jan 12, 2016

turned my computer on yesterday and it loaded up fine, apart from there was no cursor and my keyboard wouldn't work. I have a R.A.T. 5 mouse and a Coolermaster QuickFire keyboard. I know that they're on and working because their LED's are on. I decided to plug in my old ps2 keyboard and restart my PC to enter BIOS. I checked and it recognises that the keyboard and the mouse are connected into the USB hub and says they're working. Another thing, even my ps2 keyboard doesn't work when my computer gets past the start screen!

Keyboard And Mouse Unable To Wake PC Up From Sleep

I've tried to find the power management in keyboard settings from the device manager but I failed to find any option there.

Performance :: PC Wakes From Hibernation With Mouse And Keyboard

Dec 12, 2015

I have successfully activated hibernate mode (S4), yet whenever the PC is hibernated a shake of the mouse or the press of any key on the keyboard just wakes and turns on the PC. Needless to say I do not want this to happen. Hibernate (S4) works as confirmed by the fact that when it's waken up, the PC goes through the POST phase of the boot before loading W10. In addition a powercfg /a gives the following output

Code:
C:WINDOWSsystem32>powercfg /aThe following sleep states are available on this system: Standby (S3) Hibernate Hybrid Sleep Fast Startup

Sleep (S3) works too. Although it seems to have the same effects on the hardware (turns off the CPU fan), the waking up it's much quicker, without POST. In addition, here's the log from Windows event viewer:

Code:
Log Name: SystemSource: Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-PowerDate: 12/12/2015 16:40:19Event ID: 42Task Category: (64)Level: InformationKeywords: (4)User: N/AComputer: DESKTOP-9NITH1LDescription:The system is entering sleep.Sleep Reason: Application API

[code]...

In the UEFI BIOS all the ACPI settings are in order, as shown in this photo. Bios is updated to the latest version.

View image: WP 20151201 11 43 34 ProEnabling/Disabling Fast-boot and/or fast start-up changes nothingI tried also a different USB wireless mouse, but no changes. With a PS/2 mouse the PC does not wake up from hibernation.Switching the Logitech Unifying receiver between USB 2 and 3 makes no difference. The same mouse and keyboard do not turn on the PC after a complete shut down.

Disabled Keyboard / Mouse / Network / Adapter

Sep 23, 2015

My computer just won't sleep for longer than 15 minutes, I've disabled wake-timer in the advanced power options. I also disabled my keyboard, mouse, network, adapter, and everything else in my device manager that could possibly be waking my computer up without me wanting to do so. I also checked my cmd logs for devices armed to turn my PC on.Checked the Event Viewer aswell but in the log it says whatever keeps turning my PC on is 'Unknown'.
