Upgrade from Window 8 to Window 10. My HP laptop notebook seems like it has been process by evil spirits. The touch pad got stuck so often and the keyboard began typing by itself with endless number 9. Sometime, it refused to do the work. How to get rid of these demons from my computer. I am unable to buy a new one after the warranty ran out after 1 year.

Start - Settings - Ease of Access - Keyboard
Everything here is off. If i turn on the On-Screen Keyboard no keys are Highlighted (indicating they are depressed/stuck). When I use the hard keyboard and sometimes even the onscreen keyboard its as if either Ctrl, Alt Win or something are pressed down as it just types shortcuts.
E.G.:
-H- typed into chrome browser address bar via onscreen keyboard types as normal
-H- typed into chrome browser address bar via hard keyboard brings up -Chrome://history- But now also on the onscreen keyboard Ctrl is Highlighted.
I click on the onscreen keyboard to deactivate the now highlighted Ctrl button and try again. Now things are different, as now both the onscreen keyboard and the hard keyboard both bring up –Chrome://history- when -H- is typed ( Shift is not depressed )
This seems to randomly cycle one min onscreen keyboard works fine, next the keyboard works fine or they either work or none of the work rendering the computer useless.
In -Device Manger – Keyboards- The keyboard driver is dated 2006 so tried to update the driver but says I have the best driver software for my device is already installed. Noticed there are 2 entries for the HID Keyboard Device both are the same driver version. Maybe I should delete/uninstall one? Both (under event tab) , dated 310715 Device migrated, Device configured(keyboard.inf) and Device started (kbdhid). It was prob around this date I first started having probs.
Pressing Ctrl on hard keyboard highlights Ctrl on onscreen keyboard only whilst being pressed. Let go of the hard key, the soft key turns off.
Sometimes the 9 gets stuck and does 99999999999999999999999999999 but saying that I just restarted the machine and pressed the key -d- and it acted like a stuck 9 as in 999999999999999999999 not dddddddddddddddddddddddddddd.
I've NOT tried the following:
System restore (seems harsh)
Rolling back the keyboard driver (not sure how on win 10 )
Deleting the keyboard from System (not sure how on win 10 )
I'm having an issue when I'm in certain apps (Facebook being one) that when I click on a typing area the on-screen keyboard is actually covering that typing area and I don't get to see what I'm typing.

On W8.1, it'd appear on just about every blank box I'd touch with my finger. Now it almost never appears, for anything. Is this supposed to happen, or is it a bug?

Obstacle #1: I need to allocate a mouse button to switch between touch mode and desktop (wimp style) mode. What is the keyboard shortcut to bind for this? Or is there a script I could set the mouse button to launch if there is no keyboard shortcut available yet?
Obstacle #2: Persuade Logitech to make 4 finger swipe up switch to/from touch mode on the T650.
After upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10… The 1st time it got me to the welcome screen with my name and asked for my password. Typing in password made it unresponsive, all I could do was move the Mouse around. Searching the Internet for a solution on another computer, I unplugged my Wi-Fi adapter and rebooted. I was able to log into Windows 10 and everything seemed okay.
I plugged the Wi-Fi adapter back in and rebooted, it got to a screen with the date and a picture of a beach. From there I couldn't do anything. The only thing on the screen was the Internet icon in the lower right-hand side of the screen. There was nothing to click, I tried clicking all over the screen, nothing. I unplugged the Wi-Fi adapter and rebooted. It got to the same screen, only difference was it indicated no Internet connection available. Nothing to click on, clicking on blank space, the date, the Internet icon, All did nothing.
I'm using a tablet for input on my windows 10 desktop pc and while the touch keyboard is invoked fine throughout the system and even Edge, when I try to type stuff in Chrome, nothing happens. I have to manually invoke the keyboard via taskbar icon.
I do have a physical keyboard connected to the pc but as the tablet is placed in front of the keyboard, I want to keep using the touch keyboard. If I remember correctly it worked just fine with windows 8.1.
I am using a Dell Venue 8 Pro with Windows 10 installed. Everytime after Windows Update reboot, the touch keyboard will not be shown on the Logon Screen. I have to use image password to login, and it will resume normal until the next time another Windows Updates are installed.
View 1 RepliesI chose the "fast" ring update on the windows insider app in order to get the preview for windows 10 on my lumia 1520. It updated fine but since the migrating data process began, it has been stuck in a continuous reboot loop. The screen shows the nokia logo and the windows logo briefly, then shows the at&t logo (since I bought the phone in the US) with "not for resale" written in the bottom left corner. How can I fix this? I don't mind losing all my data.
View 3 RepliesI am periodically experiencing an issue where the o button starts typing itself continuously until I either restart or lock the PC. It's not a keyboard issue, since it happens whether the keyboard is plugged in or not, even with a different keyboard.
I haven't yet found a way of triggering it, but once it starts, it happens quite often after each time I stop it.
i was repairing my lenovo pc windows 8.1 with windows 10. when i was on the middle of repairing, i get stuck on 'çhoose your keyboard layout' command because it is not responding to either keyboard or mouse, even if i force it to shut down, it's going directly to choose your keyboard layout.
View 2 RepliesI recently update Windows 10 to the current newest update, and I noticed that I had a glitch where my other display (I have 2 displays) just turned off. I went to the settings to check it and it wouldn't identify it as being there so I decided to restart. Once it finishes showing the first Windows 10 splash screen both screens (it recognized the other screen after restart) went black. Nothing would appear. Not even a cursor of my mouse.
So here is where the problem lies now: I decided to restart again and this time something did happen. On my screen it asked me what keyboard I am using.nothing was being detected. My USB Mouse (which works fine otherwise) and my hardwired USB Keyboard (works too) just wouldn't be detected. I do not have any of the "gaming" mouses. They are both just very basic Logitech mouse and keyboard designed for such events.
Windows 10 upgraded my computer today. The problem I am having right now that I am stuck on choose keyboard layout auto repair screen. My keyboard works but when light goes out on keyboard and mouse I am not able to actively select any layout.
View 9 RepliesI have a HP computer and I installed windows 10 about a month and a half ago. Now I cannot log into my computer because it continues to get stuck on a keyboard layout page. Windows came installed originally on my computer so I have no start up disc or anything. And windows 10 I got from the recent download so no disc for that one either. Is there anything I can do to get the screen to disappear? When i try to click on my keyboard or mouse while it is up neither works.
View 1 RepliesWent to bed last night and Windows was fine, after a few initial glitches it's been working without problems for more than a month. This morning, I wake up and it is showing a screen that asks me to choose my keyboard layout which does not respond to any input devices. When I manually power the computer off and back on, Windows says it's starting an automatic repair, then brings up the choose my keyboard layout page again. I can't get past it.
Note that I loaded Win10 from the download and this computer didn't come with OS disks for Win7, so I have no DVD to boot from. I am also going to be very very annoyed if I have to go buy an OS disk, reformat and lose the 20,000 pictures I have stored, It's an HP Pavilion (I can't read the model number right now, it is about four years old), has a quad-core processor.
I cannot get Win10 to go into safe mode from this configuration. As soon as Win10 starts running, it just stops seeing that my keyboard is there at all, so F8 and/or Shift-F8 have no effect -- Windows never sees any input device is there from the time it starts its automatic "repair".
If I do have to reformat and lose everything, or if I have to pay a repair shop to restore it, I guarantee the next computer I buy (and all those I get down the road) will have a fruit with a bite out of it featured prominently on it...
How to fix that problem....

View 1 RepliesI was installing win10 on my pc with media create and got to the screen where it asks you for the keyboard layout. The computer does not respond and the hdd light stops blinking.When I kill the power and reboot, the computer loads properly into windows 7 desktop then says that windows 10 could not be installed and says this:
Error 0xC1900101-0x20017. The installation failed in the SAFE_OS phase with an error during BOOT operation.
Yesterday I set my Bulgarian keyboard layout to be the default one and my German to be the secondary. Then I shut down and today when I tried to log in, only the Bulgarian layout was enabled (Cyrillic letters) and I can't switch to the German layout (Latin letters). You guessed it - my password uses Latin chars . The key combinations Alt+Shift or Win+Space are not working.
Password reset works only with pre-made passdisk or something like that (I haven't set one). I tried going to Troubleshoot mode, but couldn't find anything useful there yet. Running the command prompt troubleshooting option gave me the opportunity to change the keyboard layout, enter my password and use the cmd prompt. There I tried to use the "control" command to set the keyboard layouts but it doesn't recognise the "control" command. Maybe I have to navigate somewhere else (default was system32).
I'm trying to reset my PC to get out a temporary user profile I'm stuck on. Every time I start the reset process, I am sent to a frozen Choose Keyboard Layout screen. I can't use my mouse or touchscreen to choose a layout.
View 7 RepliesI have followed several similar threads and their fixes for this problem with no result. After downloading the Win 10 upgrade, my system then said "loading updates". Then it restarted with a blue login screen saying "Welcome Back!" And a box to enter my password. The cursor is blinking in the box, but neither my mouse or keyboard works.
I have hard booted several times since the ctrl+alt+delete does not work. I am also not able to access safe mode as none of the "F" keys work during boot up.
I have tried the following:
1. Unplugged all USB devices except keyboard.
2. Turning off internet at the router.
I have a Dell desktop, and upgraded from Windows 7, with a Netgear router/modem. The only way I can get the system to move is if I power off at the main switch after booting up which goes into bios and disc diagnostics, but I don't know enough about computers to know what to do there!
Tried using DDU and it asked to enter safe mode, went to safe mode, it then said "insert bootable media" and I tried to select it from BIOS but I could never get to BIOS because my mouse and keyboard controls were dead. Nothing I've done (plugging, unplugging) has fixed this issue. How to fix this.
View 1 RepliesI recently got rid of a cabled keyboard in favor of a smaller bluetooth keyboard (MS Mobile 6000). Everything is great except that now, I have a hard time putting my PC to sleep. In fact, it tends to wake up after 30 seconds or so. I'm pretty sure this is due to the BT keyboard.
View 3 RepliesI recently upgraded Windows 8.1 to Windows 10.0. I have tried reinstalling Synaptics, removing and uninstalling Synaptics, disabling palmcheck, but it wouldn't work. It's annoying when you are playing a game that requires moving while pressing keys on your keyboard. I also have Synaptics 7.5 (19.0.10). The only way I can move my mouse while pressing any key is pressing (any key) + shift.

After upgrading to windows 10 i'm facing issue with typing. cursor stops blinking and gets disappear frequently , very difficult to type even a single word .
