Upgrade Installation Failure Several Times 0x80070002
Jul 30, 2015Windows 10 has failed several times to upgrade. I have tried tried to install using the $windows-BT file but it gives an error notice 0x80070002.

Sep 24, 2015I have tried upgrading my Dell venue 8 Pro many times from GWX, installation media and direct download in normal and also after reset of tablet with secure boot and also removing secure boot, removing fast boot and with fast boot using all permutations and combinations. Still I am unsuccessful. I am not finding any way to get support from Dell also. It goes to upgrade 91% always and then says going to reboot. But it reboots to windows 8.1.

Jul 29, 2015I've been having a problem with upgrading to Windows 10. I've tried using the tool both by running it on my PC and putting it on a USB. It gets through the first part of copying files and does the first reboot, then it starts back to the screen and the Installing Features and Drivers sits at 0% for a few seconds then resets and restores my old version with this error:
0xC1900101 - 0x30018 - The installation failed in the FIRST_BOOT phase with the error during SYSPREP operation.
When I originally looked this error up I read that it might be an encryption error so I decrypted both of my drives, ran the install again.. Same error. So now I am at a complete loss as to what to do so I can get myself upgraded.
System:
Windows 8.1 Pro x64
Mobo: ASUS ROG Maximus VII Hero
PCU: Intel i7 4790k 4.00 GHz
GPU: ASUS ROG MARS760x2 (2 GTX 760 chips on one card)
RAM: 16GB DDR3

Sep 18, 2015I've run the free Windows 10 upgrade twice on my Windows 8.1 laptop. Both times, Windows 10 would download. As my system restarted the install would take place and system finishes restarting. However, upon hitting the splash screen, I was back to Windows 8.1. Not sure why the install is failing. Each time, I receive a failure in the Windows Update popup. Did not have this problem on my desktop going from Windows 7 to 10.

Dec 22, 2015I got multiple times BSOD with info Kernel Security Check Failure. I work on laptop with additional usb mouse, usb keyboard, usb cooling pad and second display. I noticed that if I have connected my second display than Windows fall in random time (often after waking up). I saw into records in Event Viewer and there are pack of critical events and all about Kernel-Power (Event ID 41). After disconnected second display it seems to be ok. Second display is LG Flatron L1972H. What can I do with it.

Nov 3, 2015After upgrading to Windows 10 I've gotten blue screen'd at random times. At first I kept getting them whenever I would plug in my laptop to an outlet, or close it, unplug it, open it back up. One other time I was using my laptop and the power just cut out. No blue screen or anything, just cut to black.
Each time it seems to be Kernel Security Check Failure, I think there may have been one more but I'm honestly not sure. another happens when my computer is on but not plugged in, it gives me Attempted Switch From DPC when I plug the charger in (just happened).
The most recent one (today, right before posting this) I had Android Studio downloading the android SDK, Firefox browsing the internet, and a few other programs doing nothing right before I again got a blue screen with Kernel Security Check Failure. My laptop is plugged in and has been for a while, and I'm tired of these crashes.
Currently I am considering going back to Windows 8.1 just to have some much needed stability.

BSOD :: At Random Times After Windows Upgrade
Nov 13, 2015I recently managed to get a cryptowall/cryptolocker virus. I wiped everything, formatted c: and reinstalled windows 7 home premium. Was getting constant, seemingly random BSODs 10+ times daily. Tried a bunch of things, didn't work, so recently upgraded to windows 10. The BSOD's are a lot rarer but still occur at annoying times.
I've had the PC for nearly 3 years now. Prior to the reinstalls there was never 1 BSOD and the machine would stay stable for weeks on end without a restart or issue.

Feb 1, 2016I have an H/P Pavilion g6 lap top. Tried to upgrade to Window 10 twice today. It seems to down load fine, and starts the install phase, when it gets to the black screen where it say it will restart many times, it starts copying files. It gets to 85/87% it shuts the power off to the computer. When you push the power button, it starts up, saying it is restoring previous version of Windows (8.1). Nov 12, 2015Just got a call from home that my computer upgraded Windows 10 (today's big update/upgrade).And when they tried to switch it off stopped at this BSOD (0x0000139 or something) and "Kernel Security Check Failure".The system had 0 problems from the first Insider build till now.The minidump file can't even be debugged in Windbg (emailed it to a friend in IT) because there are no Symbols from MS jet.
HDD is fine so is Memory (we did a check 1 week ago).Will try to upload what I need in a zip by the instruction here but can't do that for few days because I'm not at home. aybe Windows updated some drivers on / after the update?

Drivers/Hardware :: SSD SMART Imminent Failure At Reboot (only) After Upgrade
Aug 1, 2015I'm using HP 15-n061sr with Windows 10 SL and SSD Plextor PX-128M6Pro.
Right after the upgrade from Windows 8.1, I started to experience SMART error on reboot, and only on reboot. I mean that if I just turn the laptop off and on it doesn't happen. It says that SMART detected a possible imminent failure of my disk. If I press "Continue startup", it says something like "insert boot device" or that it can't detect an operating system. Then I can go to BIOS options and restart from there - it boots up flawlessly. This happens every time I reboot. I upgraded 2 days ago. I have the latest SSD drivers. I used Windows' disk optimization tool. SSDLife Pro says disk health is fine.
P.S. I once had imminent failure problem with my previous SSD, but it happened once and it never started again; I got the refund under warranty.

Aug 9, 2015I started my windows 10 update around 10:00 last night. For awhile it seemed stuck in suspend mode (black screen, monitor light orange, computer light still on etc) and I was worried but eventually I got the update screen and it went from 30% to 56% in around 30 minutes or so.The bottom screen said my computer would turn off and on again multiple times. But then later it went back to the "suspend mode" again right before I fell asleep and now 9 hours later it's still stuck like this!! No update screen no nothing. Just sitting is a suspend mode (I think!) And not allowing me to do anything.

All was well during the Win 10 download and download verification. The program then moved on to setup the USB when the terribly informative message appeared..."SOMETHING HAPPENED". THAT'S IT!!! Aug 1, 2015Just upgraded my work pc to windows 10. Haven't gotten to the desktop yet. I cannot no longer log in. It does not recognize my password. This has never happened before. Also, my login prompt under 8.1 was just the password. Now it also presents me with a selection for the user name and another one for the password. Didn't expect that problem. Moreover it does not react to when I request a reboot. (By the way, the pc is independent. It does NOT belong to a domain.)
