Queries :: Create A Query To Show Rows With Timestamps In Between Two Times
Jul 7, 2013
Create a query to show rows with timestamps in between two timestamps? my variables are cutoff time and the current time where cutoff time is saved on a table (tblcontroltable.cutoff ) a pseudo code of what i want to achieve is
select date, product, timestamps
from tblsample
where date = date and timestamps > cutoff and timestamps < time
I have 2 tables...a lookup table with possible responses (i.e. yes, no, don't know) and the second with 8 fields that contain the values selected from the first table. Tables are related one-to-many. I need to count the number of times each of the responses shows from the lookup table shows in each of the fields in the main table. Have tried to query with the lookup field set to "group by" and each field set to "count".
I have a PivotTable that I am trying to put together that will give me the following:
Types of Payments - Left Accounts Where Payments came from - Top Amount of Payments - Data
I want it to look like a spreadsheet where it will show me all the Types of Payments even though I don't have any data in there. Almost like an Excel Spreadsheet but I want it in Access. I was able to get the Columns to show up even though I had some blanks but now I need the Rows to show up.
However, when I drag the field lists into the report Im getting a new report entry for each drill eg.
Smith 18/9/14 0 - 100
Smith 18/9/14 1 - 150 etc.
Any way to get all drills to show in the one report entry per person? So all data for Smith is in the one report or report section, and then all the data for Doe.
Hello, I have a big table like this: ID Name Race1 Race2 Race3 -- ---- ----- ----- ----- 1 a Asian russian
How do I create a query to be like this (either in query or report)? I like to combine three fields (race1, race2, race3) in one field (Race), and break any value of races to the 2nd line, 3rd line, if there is a value... ID Name Race -- --- ---- 1 a Asian Russian
In Oracle and SQL Server, we can combine a few rows to be columns-like, but in Access, is there any way to do that? and how?
I have a table [maintable] that holds print records, with the following fields :
id,userlogon,printername,pagecount,color(yes/no),duplex(yes/no),timestamp and papersize.
I want to create a query that will show the following:
Sum of pagecount where papersize like 'a4' and between 2 dates but FOR EACH USERLOGON.The dates will take them from 2 fields in a form so i will use this
"WHERE (((maintable.Timestamp)>=[forms]![reportsform]![frmdate] And (maintable.Timestamp)<DateAdd("d",1,[Forms]![reportsform]![todate])))" and some more..
So i want the query to show, first the userlogon then a field to show sum of a4 then a4 color prints etc..(remember,i want the between 2 dates criteria to be global,to the whole query)
here are all of the criteria fields i want:
1) - papersize=A4 2) - papersize=A4 and Color=True 3) - papersize=A4 and Color=False 4) - papersize=A4 and Duplex=True 5) - papersize=A4 and Duplex=False 6) - papersize=A4 and Color=True and Duplex=True 7) - papersize=A4 and Color=True and Duplex=False 8) - papersize=A4 and Color=False and Duplex=True 9) - papersize=A4 and Color=False and Duplex=False
Sometimes i have a problem with dynamical queries. For some of these i need to put in the same parameter value two times, before it works. Why this occurs?
I have a table which list a load of items, one field is date and one field is time.I have a form with two date boxes and two time boxes, the idea is for the user to search between the two inputted dates and the two inputted times. This then runs a query for a report to be produced. The problem I having is getting the query to runs both criteria it returns nothing.here is the Where part of the current SQL.
WHERE (((tblIncident.IncDate) Between [Forms]![FRM_SearchMulti]![txtrepdate] And [Forms]![FRM_SearchMulti]![TxtrepDateB]) AND ((tblIncident.IncTime) Between [Forms]![FRM_SearchMulti]![txtreptimea] And [Forms]![FRM_SearchMulti]![txtreptimeb]))ORDER BY tblIncident.IncDate, tblIncident.IncTime;
I have a log in table that counts every time a user logs onto the database. Each time a user logs in it adds another entry to a table.
I have built a query to display the user name and date of log in so I could display this information in a report. The report is now getting rather long, and I am looking for a way to display each users name and have the total number of times they have logged in, not display each time they have logged in separately.
The Query has two fields "Agent Name" and "Logger Date"
The report displays the data as follows
Agent Name Logger Date User 1 26/5/13 User 1 26/5/13 User 1 27/5/13 User 2 28/5/13
What I would like to do is have a report listing each users name, with a column showing how many times they have logged on. e.g.
Running Access 2010 and developed this query to filter out data from a table between times on 2 dates (day before report run and day of report). Covers data from a shift that carries over to the next day.Trouble is, the PC i developed on still operates the query as expected. However, on the PC the database resides (not networked just stored) and operates, the query brings up no data at all unless I remove the Time filtering.
This PC used to operate correctly up until early this year (about 18 months operated correctly) when the PC was replaced due to failure. Access version is the same and I am at wits end to what the cause is. Here is what my query looks like:
Quote:
SELECT Breakdowns.BreakdownDate, Breakdowns.Time, Breakdowns.Shift, Breakdowns.Downtime, Breakdowns.Equipment, Breakdowns.Conveyor, Breakdowns.Fault, Breakdowns.Stopper, Breakdowns.Gate, Breakdowns.Dolly, Breakdowns.Carrier, Breakdowns.FaultType, Breakdowns.Comments, Breakdowns.Tradesman FROM Breakdowns WHERE (((Breakdowns.BreakdownDate)=Date()) AND ((Breakdowns.Time) Between #00:00:00# And #6:29:00#) AND ((Breakdowns.Shift)="Night")) OR (((Breakdowns.BreakdownDate)=Date()-1) AND ((Breakdowns.Time) Between #22:30:00# And #23:59:00#) AND ((Breakdowns.Shift)="Night"));
I have a reasonably complex query (3 subqueries into 1 main query) which gathers data from various tables into a single dataset based on a specified date.
I now need to generate a similar dataset but across a range of dates (a month) for reporting purposes. However, I can't just adapt the query and change the parameter from a "=#<Date>#" format to a "Between #<Date1># And #<Date2>#" format
The reason being, each date has to be treated individually and has to be queried as a standalone. It's to do with the type of data I have (one-to-many relationships between tables)
So what I really need to do is run the same query multiple times, for each date in scope, then stitch all of those datasets together into one 'giant' one.
How to do that in SQL (effectively, have one query produce the dates in scope, then join that onto the other query, passing each date as the parameter - I don't even think that's possible to be honest)
The other option I can think of is to use VBA to loop through the dates in scope, then use a QueryDef object to set the parameter and read the records for each date into a Recordset object. But then I have the problem of stitching all the Recordsets together, without looping through all the fields and rows each time.
I have made a very simple log on form that requires the user to type in a user name and password. The user name and passwords are stored in a table. New users are added to this table to allow access to the database.
Is there a way I can add a counter to see how many times a particular user has logged onto the database?
Is there a way to make the password expire every 365 days requiring the user to reactivate their account and log in details.
Form 1 - text box to enter UniqueID - button to save the new UniqueID and date/time stamp I set the Default Value for UniqueID in Table 1 as Now()
Each time I enter a new UniqueID and click the button, a new record will be created in Table 1 with the entered UniqueID and current date/time in field1
This form seems to work well.
Form 2 - text box to enter UniqueID - button to update
How I can use the UniqueID entered into the textbox of Form 2 and update the corresponding field3 with a new current date/time stamp?
I am using an Access 2010 DB to keep track of a schedule. Essentially, at least one person needs to be signed up to work for every hour of every day in a week.
Tables: Days with 7 records Hours with 24 records Workers with as many people that sign up to work the different hours Schedule signifying the worker, day, and hour which are signed up.
As of now i have a query that relates these results and gives me a line detailing the worker/time information for the slots that are signed up for. What I'm TRYING to do is to create a query that gives me BLANK worker info when there is no one signed up for a particular hour.Currently my Schedule table has the following:
What I'm looking to do is have this table matched up with another table (or query) that provides every combination of day/hour. When an day/hour combination is skipped, the query will be able to "fill in the blank" with a row. Like this:
I am trying to get a total count of rows from a query on my tickets, Each ticket has a date and an ID number
Code: SELECT tbl_ticket.ticket, tbl_ticket.entrydate, Count(tbl_ticket.[entrydate]) AS [Row Count] FROM tbl_ticket GROUP BY tbl_ticket.ticket, tbl_ticket.entrydate HAVING (((tbl_ticket.entrydate) Between #1/1/2011# And #1/31/2011#));
I am trying to get this query built so I can attach it to a form.
I am trying to get three bits of data from this Query
1 a total count of all the Tickets in a given month
The ticket #'s and their date of entry.
So far this gives me a great list of Tickets and the date they got put in the system, but then for the total count it gives me 1 for each line. Even if some have the same date.
I have a table where and account could have multiple rows with different data like Applied_Date and Trans_Code, and AMOUNT. The AMOUNT in two of the rows will be a positive and a negative and will be zero each other out. I am trying to create a query that will only return the the rows that do not offset each other. Here is an example of my table:
ACCOUNT CODE APPLIED_DATE AMOUNT 292020 M 5/11/2012 ($33.95) 292020 11 5/14/2012 $33.95 292020 A 5/30/2012 ($33.95)
I need query to display ALL the rows from Table3 and show columns of Owner_LastName and Tenant_Lastname. However, I want the rows in Table3, that do not have the value for TenantID to still appear, just with Tenant_LastName being left blank.
From a Access database that I inherited. Users used to be able (from a form) run a query and then add data (i.e, new rows). But now that the the database is split and the backend is on MS-SQL, they no longer can do this. I do not think this will be possible. I think they will have to add data directly to the table or have another form for adding data.
I want an append query to create a new record in a table and populate that record with fields from a form. Some of these fields are free text, others are from combo boxes. The append query adds vastly too many records (albeit all populated with precisely the same information) - and the number it adds seems to depend on which combo box options I choose.
I have a similar append query which pulls information from earlier records in the table, and combines that with free text and combo boxes on a near-identical form, which works fine and always just adds one row.
I have the following query which returns 2 columns, where 2 fields are summed :-
Code:
SELECT Sum(Stats.[No of Invoices Checked]) AS [SumOfNo of Invoices Checked], Sum(Stats.[No of Incorrect invoices]) AS [SumOfNo of Incorrect invoices] FROM Stats WHERE (((Stats.Period)=[Forms]![frmMain]![cboSingleMonth].[Value]));
I've got two nested queries. One finds the oldest inspections from an import table, the second compares that query to the main table again and pulls all 'expired' inspections for each Service Order in the first.
These queries are trimmed down for the essential elements of my question. I can post the full SQL if necessary.
queryDoTheseFirst:
Code: SELECT TOP 18 ImportTemp.[SO ID], ImportTemp.[Inspection Activity], [Activity Created]+[AddDays] AS [Due Date] FROM [Priority List] INNER JOIN (ImportTemp INNER JOIN queryNeededFirst ON (ImportTemp.[SO ID] = queryNeededFirst.[SO ID]) ON [Priority List].Activity = ImportTemp.[Inspection Activity]
[Code] ....
The refinement I would like to make is, rather than having to pull TOP 18 activities in the final query, just pull TOP 12 [SO ID]s and however many activities come along with them (usually 1 or 2, averages out to about 1.5 so 18 is my compromise). In theory an inspector could have two inspections due on every single property, and would only get 9 unique addresses/[SO ID]s. But I can't figure out how to do that when [SO ID] is no longer unique in the second query.
I suppose I could 'number' the rows in the subquery and add a <=12 criteria on that calculated field, but I'm leery of the processing required (that table contains ~14,000 rows, and most methods of numbering seem to want to use DCount).
I have a result for a query made from four different tables for which I would like to refine the result of this query grouping multiple rows into columns.
Attached is a pdf file showing the results being obtained by my query and underneath is how the result would like it be after running the query.
