Integration Services :: SSIS - Managing Data Integrity When Importing Sharepoint Data
Sep 28, 2015
I setup this package to import data from a Sharepoint list to a SQL Server data table. The primary key of my SQL table is mapped to the Title column of my Sharepoint list. There is a possibility that duplicate values will be entered in the Title field of the Sharepoint list. So when importing data into my table via SSIS, my package always error-out when there it comes across duplicate values. how you others have managed data integrity when importing from a Sharepoint list with the Title column being mapped to the primary key of a table.
i never used SharePoint before, only for update some Excel files. But now, I want to extract the Excel Data from SharePoint 2013 to my SQL database. I'm thinking use the Excel Source to do that, however I'm having very errors to achieve that.
I want to do some ETL on data from the Excel files.
I am using the SharePoint adapters from Codeplex that allow me to use SharePoint source and destination tasks in SSIS for SQL Server 2008 and SharePoint 2010. I am able to pull the data from the SQL Server and insert it into the SharePoint List.
However, I prefer to just have fresh data every time, so I'd like to add a step to delete all the items in the list before inserting the new ones. Is there a way I can configure the SharePoint SSIS destination task to clear all the items before I insert new ones?
I am going to set up a new SSIS package that will import data into 5 different tables on a SQL Server database. The source of the data is on another SQL Server and I will use to select the data. If one of the tables fail to import I do not want the SSIS package to import any of the data. What is the best way to create this package? Is it best to create one SSIS package, with five data flow tasks that are linked to each other. Within each data flow task, is a Source and Destination to transfer the data to each table.
When I am trying to insert to data from SQL ssis package to SharePoint list people or group column I am getting below error.[SSIS.Pipeline] Error: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_PROCESSINPUTFAILED. The ProcessInput method on component "SharePoint List Destination" (25) failed with error code 0x80131500 while processing input "Component Input" (34). The identified component returned an error from the ProcessInput method. The error is specific to the component, but the error is fatal and will cause the Data Flow task to stop running.
I already tried SharePoint List Source and found some bugs in it. Ex. Duplication of records, sometimes its throw an error: A possible reason might be you are trying to retrieve too many items at a time (Batch size).
I also used SharePoint WebServices and store the records into XML file and used those files as a source to load the data into Sql Server Table.
Is there any other approach to pull the data from SharePoint List?
There is a requirement to insert if there is a new record/update the existing record to Sharepoint. Am able to do Insert/Update to SharePoint if the data quantity is minimum, i.e, records in hundreds.
link: [URL] ....
if the records/data is more(in thousands), while updating to sharepoint, am getting below error. I tried to keep the minimal batch size, but still getting the same error. Is there any setting on Sharepoint that can be set to increase updation capability?
Error details:
System.ServiceModel.ProtocolException: The content type text/html; charset=utf-8 of the response message does not match the content type of the binding (text/xml; charset=utf-8). If using a custom encoder, be sure that the IsContentTypeSupported method is implemented properly. The first 1024 bytes of the response were: ' <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN"
I am trying to load data from sharepoint to Database. WhenI try to execute the package, am getting below error.
[SHAREPOINT_SRC_SLTS_FIELDS [286]] Error: Microsoft.Samples.SqlServer.SSIS.SharePointUtility.SharePointUnhandledException: Unspecified SharePoint Error. A possible reason might be you are trying to retrieve too many items at a time (Batch size) ---> System.ServiceModel.FaultException: Exception of type 'Microsoft.SharePoint.SoapServer.SoapServerException' was thrown.
All examples I found refer to classes under Microsoft.SharePoint namespace. However, I have the SharePoint CSOM that only gives me the Microsoft.Sharepoint.Client namespace.
I need to read the selected values of a multichoice field, but not sure how to do it with classes in the namespace above.
everthing works, exept the TSQL_x0020_Reference_x0020_Numbe field.
Through SharePoint you can upload an RDS file and then click manage data sources to hook upthe report to a proper shared data source. Does anyone know if you can do this through the SharePoint object model? We don't deploy our reports using the designer and we don't want to upload the reports using SharePoint. We want to add the reports to a document library using the object model, when we do this we need to manage the data source so that it will run.
in a my SSIS 2012 pkg I'm using a Foreach ADO Enumerator container that reads an object variable in order to get an id value. This identifier is passed as an input parameter to an Execute SQL task to update an Oracle table: if this task fails the id is written on a SQL Server table. After the Execute SQL task execution, with success or failure, the flow go to another task in the container.
When an error occurs for the update on Oracle table, each tasks inside the container are executed but the container fails and the loop ends.I'd like to complete the entire loop respect to the identifiers present in the object variable also if the update operation on Oracle table goes in error.
I'm using Script Component to load data into Oracle DB due to the poor performance issue. Now, I found it will missing some data during the transmission. Please see the screenshot below:
I'm importing comma-delimited text files into a SQL table. The data imports in a seemingly random order. One time I import and the lines appear one way and the next time I import they import another way.
Is there a way to force the text files to import in the same order the data is found in the file?
Is there any way we can download sharepoint folders using ssis. I have a specific link(View on sharepoint) which I would like to download using ssis, Is it possible?
We have been looking for a way to executing bursting of SSRS reports within SharePoint (integration mode) from a SSIS package after a successful load. We found this MSDN article which has a PowerShell script to "fire" a subscription.URL....One of the parameter needed is the SubscriptionID.
I am wondering if it is possible to use SSIS to sample data set to training set and test set directly to my data mining models without saving them somewhere as occupying too much space? Really need guidance for that.
I am using SSIS 2014 and installed adapter for sharepoint list source and destination and when I refresh the toolbox I don't see them. Is there a way to manually add them?
Im newto SSIS. I want to develop package for data validation.
FirstName
1. Mandatory field checking: if Null, reject the record 2. If field length > 50, then reject the record
SSN
1. If field length > 12, then reject the record 2. If SSN is not in valid format, issue warning and process rhe record without SSN value. 3. Valid format: 9 digit numeric values should present after striping off all non-numeric characters. 4. Only send 9 digits to MDM
Like these i have 30 rules. And I have to shop the error msg if the validation fails like "Mandatory feild is missing".
I am using flat file as source.I have quantity column in flat file which is a Numeric datatype and target table quantity datatype is Numeric.
I am able to load data from source to target but when I am comparing data from source to target I am not getting exact record from source flat files Source having data like
as we can see that data are not matching with source I can not change the target table quantity data type, is there any thing which I can do with source column data type.
If I have an XML without an XSD what is the best way to create and import data in SQL Server? I know I can use xsd.exe to create an XSD from my XML.
But if I want my structure to be somewhat different in SQL server how would I go about creating a reliable and repeatable import system for my data so i can easily manage the data updates?
.If record from Detail (Spectrum table) is null then do insert the record into Spectrum table set status_flag to 'A' for active else do update the record (replace all old values with new values) set status_flag to 'A' for active end-if
· If record from Master (Staging table) is null then do soft delete set status_flag to 'D' for delete end-if
I have ssis package that pull data from SAP (Using ADO.net connection) to SQL server every night but i have noticed that all data from source is not getting pulled by package . package losing some amount of row.
I am currently working on a BI project and I am meant to use AtTask Project Management Application as one of my data sources for the ETL.which SSIS component that I can use to load data from the AtTask into my data warehouse.
I am trying to pull data from an Oracle Db using SSIS. If I use the Table/View option in the Access Mode option on the OLE DB Source component, it works fine. But when I use the SQL Command option, the processing get stuck at Pre-Execution stage.... (for days).
I am loading data from a SQL server source table to oracle destination table and data type on both the tables are same but range is not same VARCHAR2(50) NOT NULL in oracle and sql data type is varchar(200). But when trying to load the data from TABLE SQL to TABLE Oracle i'm getting the following error:
We have a 2014 SQL Server. I have a SSIS package written in VS 2008 where I am simply importing an .xlsx into an existing table via a mapped drive. I have it working on my development machine using the 2007 Access 32 bit driver from [URL]..... Our DBA is trying to schedule the package to execute on a schedule job on the 2014 server and we received an error. He installed the 32 bit driver and still getting the error. I set the package to run in 32 bit and we are still getting the error.

I get the following error when I try to navigate to a report/model/data source, stored in a Sharepoint Document Library using a Sharepoint URL based on an Extranet or Intranet zone - but it works OK using the url for the Default zone:
System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: The specified path refers to a SharePoint zone that is not supported. The default zone path must be used. ---> Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.SecurityZoneNotSupportedException: The specified path refers to a SharePoint zone that is not supported. The default zone path must be used.
Is this a limitation of the SQLRS-WSS3 integration or is there a workaround?
I am trying to upload data from CSV to Sql table. I have a column as 'arrived_date' value '13:45' etc and while trying to load data i am getting error as "data conversion failed ,truncation may occur while loading data". In flat file connection this column datatype is string but in my table datatype is as time(). There is a error with conversion. I tried to change data type in advanced editor but no use. Using data conversion after flatfile makes my error disappear but it is giving error right at the file not even going through from file?
