Can we do the auto hide of parameter window in ssrs as soon as user select the input and click on view report and once the data comes, that parameter window should hide automatically.
View 3 RepliesI have 2 tables in my report, a multi value parameter (tp_title) is passed to the report. I am trying to hide the first tablix with this expression in the visiblity option of the tablix properties.

I get the error: The Hidden expression for the tablix ‘Tablix1’ contains an error: Overload resolution failed because no Public '=' can be called with these arguments:

When I render the report. How the tablix can be made invisible based on the parameter?

I am using reporting services 2012, Can we make visibility of report parameter dynamic, ie can we make parameter visible or hide on certain condition or its visibility depends on other parameters Is this feature available in any other updated version of ssrs?

I have a Multivalue parameter with 4 available values and have 4 columns in the report that correspond to each of these values.I apply column visibility to each of the 4 columns with the following expression (the number changes for each column

What I want to do is that if I select a KPI and the Column value is NULL then to hide the row.Obviously if you select multiple KPIs and only 1 of the columns has null value then I wouldn't want the Row hidden.
I'm modifying a report that uses a date parameter as a report filter. The original report had no restrictions on what dates may be entered, so it displayed a neat Calendar picker tool for use in selecting the date for the parameter.
Thing is, this new version needs to have the dates limited to only those available in the source data. So, when I provide a query to describe the available values in the parameter properties window, instead of the nifty Calendar picker, I get a texbox dropdown list. [insert sad sound here]
I was hoping that it would still provide the Calendar picker, but with available dates highlighted in bold or some color or the unavailable dates greyed out, something along those lines; not an unimaginative dropdown list. To define the available values, I use a very simple query;
SELECT DISTINCT Load_Date
FROM Census
ORDER BY Load_Date
Is there a way to get it to display a Calendar tool rather than the dropdown list, if the parameter is given a list of available dates?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a handful of reports that are currently used by sales reps, and I'm trying to make them available to their regional VP's, and coporate users (executives and administrative staff that support Sales nationwide).
Currently, the reports take the UserID and resolve it to show the information that is only appropriate for that specific rep.
What I would like to do is have the parameter section at the top of the report be displayed for higher level users, so they could select an individual sales rep from a drop-down. (Ideally, the RVP's would only be able to select from reps in their region, but the corporate users would be able to select any rep.) The problem is, I don't want any of the sales reps to be able to select a rep other than themselves, for obvious reasons.
Is there a way to have the parameter section hidden/displayed dynamically, based on the UserID, so that users other than reps would have the ability to enter the desired rep name, but reps would not?

I have just install SQL 2005 SP2 and trying to get Window SharePoint Services V3 integrated with SQL 2005 SP2 reporting services.
In SharePoint Central Administration, I select the Reporting Services Integration page and have setup the Report Server Web Service URL and Authentication Mode. I then goto Grant database access, specify the SQL server name, get promted for a username and password that has access SQL Reportserver and get the following error "The group name could not be found"
Does anyone have any ideas?

We have a j2ee application which uses Microsoft Reporting Services 2005 for reports.
In our JSP page we show and hide an IFRAME for which the src url is given as the Report URL with queryString for parameters.
Is there a standard way to POST data to report rather than passing it to URL in query String.
We also have a linked report.
We need to display this report in a Popup or provide a back button .
How to do this..

I am creating a report with a Matrix and this report contain a collapse Matrix which it toggle from a certain field.
Now I am having two issue:First issue is that when I set visibility to hide and that the matrix can be toggle by a field is leaving a very unaesthetic space between rows.
The second problem is that when I toggle the field I would like another part of the report to hide.
Does it exists anything that would allow me to define an expression I can use in the visibility that I Can use to make disappear this part of the report when the + has been toggle and make it appear back when the - has been toggle?

How can I hide the URL information when I open a report, some with parameters and some do not have
parameters. Is there anyway or properties in RS that I can set to have it hide all the important information,
like datasource, credentials, parameters, and display the report like a aspx page instead?
Or does this need to have special programming to make this happen? and if so, what do I need to do?

I have a parameter "time frame" which contains two value- 6 months ,12 months an 18 months which shows data of 6 months , 12 months and 18 months.
In my ssrs report i have 18 columns :

The first six months will be displayed in each case.
But when i choose 6 months i just want to display first six months only.when i choose 12 months i want to be displayed first 12 months columns only and for 18 months all the columns,.

The issue is it opens up a command window every minute and is annoying. How can i run this job using sqlcmd and still not have the window pop up.
Is there a way to create a service that can run the batch files without the user knowing that it is running. I am trying to replicate what sql server agent used to do wth msde. i am using sql server express now.
I have an assignment where I am asked to create a test report with Cascaded parameters in a report for use on an Intranet. Found a good guide on a site named slqtips. The only problem is, that when I have created my data source, my data sets and my queries, I should go to the window "Report parameter properties", for specifing the data which should be included in the choices in the report, and I cannot find it! As a matter of fact the milieu I work in, Report designer in Visual Basic Studio Shell 2013, on a MS SQL 2012 Server, looks different in many way compared to the guide. It actually also differs from the Pictures in the book "Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Reporting Services" I also try to use for the purpose.Am I perhaps working in the wrong place, or what can the problem be? Is this Visual basic 2013 Window some kind of upgrade which is different from the original version where you used to work with Report designer?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have 6 SSRS reports for account receivable module. All of these 6 reports are for one specific business requirement. The difference between these reports are layout, number of columns and styles. I want user to choose one from these 6 reports based on their requirement.
When user clicks the menu in their application to initiate the report, Is there any way that the SSRS show list of these reports in a window so that user can choose one of them?
As I am working on a 3rd party ERP application, I cannot provide a form or window in that ERP to choose one report out of these 6 reports. I believe that there is a way to do this in Crystal report, but do not know how to do this in SSRS.
I thought the built in expression Level() would show me be drill down level. I can't see to get that to work. I'd like to determine my drill down level so I can hide columns based on that.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI developed a rdlc report. I have a graph chart. Sometimes the value of a label can =0. If the value =0 I want to hide the labelname. However, I also have dummy values =0. This is so that I can have spaces between the bars. The dummy values labels isn't shown in the graph. This works great. I need to add to the expression that if the name of the label isn't dummy but the value =0 to hide the labelname.

I want to be able to open URLs in a new window in my SSRS report, and the URLs keep changing in every record. The problem is these links are not the only things present in the record, and there is other data present. I keep seeing examples where they are considering only a link to be present in the record with no other data.
Also the data in the record includes HTML tags and I checked the option that says "HTML - Interpret HTML tags as styles" on the placeholder properties window.

I am using the below expression for hidding the zero data labels in ssrs chart.=IIF(Fields!Name.Value=0,False,True). But this expression is working for some other charts. It is not wrking for only charts. I could not find the solution for that. How to hide the zero values.

I have the above output. When I try to input this as a dataset to a pie chart I don't get the data lables for two slices of the pie chart. Only one slice will show the values when showing data label option is enabled.
For the Pie chart, I have added Soft, Hard and Primary as Values. I haven't added a Category group or a Series group. Why isn't this showing the data labels for the other slices?
Do I need to transform the dataset so that it has a category and the value like below?
XYZ, 2, Soft 50
XYZ , 2, Hard, 10
XYZ, 2, Primary, 40
Will this work since it has a define category that I could insert for the chart.

I have been playing around with RS 2005 and like it so far. I am in the process of replcating some excel reports in RS. I was wondering if there is any way to replicate the Auto Filter Functionality of Excels sheets where column is a dropdown with disticnt values of that specific column and also has Top 10 and Custom filters attached to it. So when selected from dropdown the report filters for these records.
I understand we can use parameters for this kinda report but my client has 15 columns in the report and it will be cool to give them auto filter functionality as in Excel as they are used to it.
Any help will be appreciated.
