Reporting Services :: How To Get Running Total Depending On ID / Year And Month

I want to get a running total. But its a bit tricky. I have data depending on ID, YEAR, Month, Value like the following.
ID, Year, Month, Value

I wrote the Query below

Now I need to get a output like this,

A running total depending on the ID, Year and Month. Although I showed this for two steps I need to get it from one query.
Question is - To get a running total based on ID, Year, Month. If I do the normal group by and sum query I could get it for all the months for each id. But need to then add January value to February and updated February value.

Hi,
How to select max of year-month in the Reporting Services. For example I have 3 fields :
1. Year-Month (format : yyyy-mm)
2. City
3. Amount Sales
In the bar chart graph, I have put the City as X-Categories, Amount Sales as Data
And I want to filter only the lastest year month in the database.
Can we do this without going to database and set the filter there ?

I have a column bar chart that displays counts based on category (month-Year). I have used an expression to sort the category data also.

I have to color format the bars in set of 4 colors. I have used SWITCH statements for other charts and it worked. But here in this case since it is a date field, I am getting error.

I am trying to use one dataset rather than two and was hoping to then filter the data via a table or matrix.
This is my dataset

I would like to display two rows of data for each StaffId one representing the current period and the other all periods to date so the table would look something like below.
StaffId | Non Chargeable Time | Chargeable Time
CJJ | 0:20 | 4:20
| 4:50 | 19:20
JN | 0:05 | 5:30
| 1:30 | 25:30
The above shows two separate StaffId figures the first line for each shows non chargeable and chargeable for the current period and the second line a total of all periods in that year.
I have managed to get the first row to display only figures from the current period by using a filter however it also applies the same filter to the second row in the group. I have also tried to group the rows but am drawing a blank.

I have a SSRS report developed in Visual Studio 2013 and using SQL server 2012. It has a date control based on parameters which works correctly in the development environment. I can select by day AND I can move from date to date by clicking on the month name to be able to move by month or double clicking to be able to move by year.
When the report is deployed to Internet Explorer 11 or Firefox I can only, click back and forward by one day at a time and I can not double click the date control to move by month or double click to move by year. I can type the dates into the parameter box and get the correct result. I have set the compatibility view settings in IE for my server.

Does anyone know of a way to use a funtion for returning records based on fiscal reporting periods like Quickbooks uses for example "This Month", "Last Month", "This Quarter", "Last Quarter", "This Year", "Last Year". While I realize that I can create a very long date time parsing routine for this but it is not very elegant or useful. For some reason my Add Total is grey out, when i tried to add grand total using some expression.

i have some classes that I want to group by month/year (note:i dont need the day of the month)

I have a simple report that looks like this:
January February March April
Sales 1050 800 750 1100
Units Sold 50 40 41 60
I want to change the background color to yellow if the value is less than the previous month. For example for the sales row, February sales is less than January and March sales is less than February so I would want the values (800 and 750) to have a background color of yellow. The columns is grouped by month.I've tried experimenting with the Previous function but I run into the following error message: The BackgroundColor expression for the text box has a scope parameter that is not valid for an aggregate function. The scope parameter must be set to a string constant that is equal to either the name of a containing group, the name of a containing data region, or the name of a dataset.

Currently I report our monthly fees broken down into 4 weeks per month by using 4 separate datasets with the following code

If I could somehow with SQL tie in all 4 separate datasets and display them as Week 1, 2, 3 and 4 underneath the dataset and selectable.An even simpler solution maybe just understanding how charts work, I can get it so I display the 4 separate weeks in the chart however I can't get the bottom line (Category Group) to display Week 1, 2, 3 and 4.

I have the following script that calculates Sales by month and current year.
We run a Fiscal year from April 1st thru March 31st.
So April 2012 sales are considered Fiscal Year 2013.
Is there a way I can alter this script to get Fiscal Year Totals?

I have three web form controls, a ddl that contains the day, another ddl that contains the month and a textbox that contains the current year. To send the date chosen by the user to the database, I join the three web form control values so that the resultant string is ‘day/month/year’ thus:
CmdInsert.Parameters("@Date").Value = day.SelectedItem.Value + "/" + month.SelectedItem.Value + "/" + year.Text()
And the resultant string is: dd/mm/yyyy, for example 30/08/2004.
But the problem is if the user does not select any day or any day and month, then the resultant string is for example; 00/08/2004 or 00/00/2004, but the problem is the database does not accept this format as datetime. How can I do it?
I want the user has the possibility to chose as well only the month and year, and as well only the year. Is it possible to send to the database the datetime format with only the month and year, or only the year?

I'm using PHP with SQLServer2k to create a page containing monthly counts of episodes at a facility occurring between two user selected month/year combinations. For instance, the user could select 10/2003 and 2/2004 and facility X and get a line for each month showing the count of episodes occuring in that month.
The problem is that the episode date is stored in three integer fields (epiday, epimonth, epiyear) and I'm having a terrible time getting them into a format where I can use them in a between statement.
I've tried evaluating the parts of the episode date seperately like:
where
(epimonth>=10 and epiyear=2003)
or
(epimonth<=2 and epiyear=2004)
and that works, but what happens when someone wants to see from 10/2002 to 2/2004?
Any suggestions on the best way to do this?

I'm working with a table called SALFLDGAMS where it has two columns that I need to work with. One of the columns is Period which has years from 2000 to 2005 and the other column is called amount which has the balance for that year. Let me explain in a little more detail. There are account codes associated with the years as well so there will be many places where for example the year 2000 will show up with a given value. What I'm trying to do is to create a view which has a BeginBalance column which adds lets say all the values for 2000 and sticks them to 2001. So what I'm saying is all the values from the previous year I want them in the current year. All in one column. Thanks for the help guys.

I am trying to get my db to return a date in the format day/month/year but its returning the american version month/day/year.
I'm using a DatePart function that converts my date:
CREATE FUNCTION dbo.DatePart
( @fDate datetime )
RETURNS varchar(10)
AS
BEGIN
RETURN ( CONVERT(varchar(10),@fDate,101) )
END
This returns te american version, can anyone help me to get this to convert the UK way.

Hi there,
Can anyone help? I currently have this query that imports distinct data into a prices table with a couple of contraints. This table became to large so I have now split this down into yearly tables (dbo.price --> dbo.price2001, dbo.price2002 etc). I get the data each day in another table that may contain data for different years so I need to be able to look at this data and insert into the right yearly tables.
E.g. present query:
Insert Prices
select distinct M.ids, C.zdateT, 1.0,0 from mapid as M,datacorrect as C
where M.asset = 'money'
and C.zDate not in (select zdate from price where sid >=15)
So I need to run this query for each yearly table with a date listed in the datacorrect table (insert prices(yr) yr = 2002,2003,2004 etc)
Any ideas would be appreciated!!

I have written an expression and added it to a calculated field:
=IIF(fields!date1.value<IIF(fields!date2.value IS NOTHING, today(), fields!date2.value),"1","0")
The calculated field now returns either 1 or 0.
I want to now get a total of all the 1's, but when I try and get a total (=count(fields!totals.value = 1) then it just totals every row in the report.
How to get get a total of just the 1's? - e.g., sift out the 0's?

The expression for the total is =Sum(Fields!Name.Value)Is there anyway that I can include the Name C in the report but exclude it from the Total value so that it will equate to 400.

I have a SSRS report. I am displaying TOP 10 Stores by sales by creating a filter on group Store. It has 3 row groups (Store, brand, product).
There is no column group. In each cell, I am using sum function in expression (Sum(Fields!TotalSales.Value).
I am adding Totals by going on Group properties, but I am getting totals of all the rows not the total of all the groups within my Store level (which is my top Parent group).
Store Total sales(CW) TotalSales(LW)
A 2 1 -expression used to calculated this value is sum(Fields!TotalSales.Value)
B 3 2
C 7 3
I want subtotal =12 AND 6 under respective columns . ALSO, my store (A, B, C) can be expanded into Brands and brands into Products. I tried using running value but its not working as I have 3 groups within Store row parent group and I am doing a SUM on each group.

I have an SSRS report with 2 Row Groups and 2 Column Groups. A total row appears before the detail when I run the report. I'm not sure why it appears or how to remove it.Generally, I'll click on a group, add a total row before or after, and then a line is inserted with "Total" labeled. That's not what is happening here, I see now total row, it just appears when previewed.

I have a report with an expression to give a calculated field value (VoidDays) as follows:=DateDiff("d",Fields!Void_Start.Value, IIf(Fields!Void_End.Value is nothing, today, Fields!Void_End.Value))I have a number of different codes in the output such as VLOSS, VMAINT, VHOUS etc.When I run my report my days total for VLOSS is always correct but all other values are one day short. In the example shown in image below VMAINT should be 6 days and VHOUS should be 20 days which would then both add up to the VLOSS of 26 days
I cant currently fix these days at source for a number of reasons hence I need to fix these on the report output.How can I add one day onto each of my Void Days Total for every code except VLOSS which is always correct.

I need a report that shows calcul of a field for current year as well as previous year respecting this rule expression(Last-Last Previous)/Last Previous*100 (I work with MDX Query and i work with SSRS 2008).
Also the report runs on a Year Parameter. Below is an example for the result for example i selected the years 2010 2011 2012 i can select another years because i have the report runs on a Year Parameter

I have a requirement to display the count of project data by their status (On Hold, In Progress, Pre-concept and Closed) for the current FY and Last FY based on column 'Financial Year' and 'Project Status'.
Financial Year column has a value in the following format (FY2011-12, FY2012-13, FY2013-14,FY2014-15, FY2015-16,FY2019-20 ,FY2020-21,FY2021-22)
I need to set the financial year value dynamically in above format for the last and current year (FY2013-14, FY2014-15) based on today's date and Financial Year is from July to Jun. For example,
When today's date is 28-06-2015 then it should set the current FY as FY2014-15 and Last Financial Year as FY2013-14When today's date is 28-06-2021 then it should set current FY as FY2020-21 and Last Financial Year as FY2019-20

I am trying to build a report using SSRS.I need to retrieve a distinct value from my initial query and place this in the header or group row.The detail lines are hidden but may be expanded(shown).I then have another group row in which I require the sum of all distinct values from my previous group row.To explain pictorially I have the following:
-Scroll right to see the pink squares.Note that the total in the pink square is the sum of the individual var3 values distinct so 10 even when var3 =4 in euro currency.
-I have tried using sum(var5) but this will give the incorrect value as it sums all detail lines not just the distinct values.
-I have tried using another dataset but when referenced the grouping behaviour expected is non existent so where I expect 40 I get 80 i.e. sum disregarding values of var1 and var2 although these are the grouping variables.
-I need it to be dynamic so I am unable to use IIF(...).
If I could get var4 or var6 to be the totals I require I could work with that.I have also tried the following custom code:
