Jun 2, 2015I gave a user all required permission to view the SSRS report. User is able to select from the dropdown list but unable to view the data, It is showing a blank screen.

Currently, on my report 'ScheduledShipDate' is set to Monday of each week since we ship every mondays. I need to change the 'ScheduledShipDate' since from now the ship date will be Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of each week. Here is my DDL.

SQL Server 2008 :: Running (sub-report) In SSRS From Custom Code?
Aug 6, 2015I have a balance sheet report developed and working. What I need to do is add the ability to click (or double-click) on a number and have a separate report (drill-down) open with the detail that makes up that number. I've researched drill-through reports, sub reports, etc. but can't find a way to do what I want.
I'm now thinking that I need to add custom code in the report properties, code window to do this. I'm hoping that there is a VB method I can use to call this report and pass a parameter. Pseudo-code for this function would look something like this: RunReport("DrillDownReport", "Parameter").
This seems like it should be pretty easy but I don't know what the function is in VB for running an SSRS report (if there is one).
Is this possible or am I barking up the wrong code tree?

Printing Remote Ssrs Report From Report View Does Not Work

It appears to work fine on my end however on my clients end, whenever they try to print a report that displays perfectly within the report viewer to their printer by selecting the printer button in the report it never ends up printing.., however if they go into printer setup and change the page range to print from all pages to just maybe one page and then select the print button it seems to print fine..
The printer seems to receive the information as the light flashes but no page kick out when all pages is selected to print..
Any help would be greatly appreciated..
Cannot View Report With MOSS And SSRS Integrated Mode

I have configured Reporting services to use MOSS integrated mode. I have two servers, one for MOSS and the other for SQL database and reporting server.
Since I am using NTLM for IIS authentication, I can only use "Trusted Account" for Reporting Service Integration.
Then I created a report in SQL Server BI development studio and deployed to a MOSS document library. The deployment was successful. However, when I tried to open the report, I got the following error message:
An error has occurred during report processing.
This data source is configured to use Windows integrated security. Windows integrated security is either disabled for this report server or your report server is using Trusted Account mode.
I have tried to switch to "Windows Authentication" for Reporting Service Integration, but this will give error for "Set Server Defaults" screen. Also the deployment from BI studio to MOSS will fail with authentication error. So I think I have to stay with "Trusted Account" option there.
What should I do to make the report accessible while using "Trusted Account"? Is there any configuration which has to be done for this purpose? Any input is appreciated.

If I use the default Textbox in SSRS 2008 Report Designer, I get all the RTF formating characters, which makes for a VERY ugly report.Is there another control I can place on my report that will take the RTF formated text and display it properly? I can do this in Crystal Reports, but I'm converting to SSRS 2008 so I need to be able to handle RTF formated text.

Jul 16, 2015I am using SSRS 2008 and the reports we have use parameters of type Date/Time. The reports work well when the parameter values are entered correctly.
When entering an invalid date format for one of the Date/Time parameters the following error is displayed "The value provided for the report '<parameter name>' is not valid for its type. (rsReportParameterTypeMismatch). This seems to be working correctly as well. However, when the correct date format is then entered for the report parameter for which the report threw an error, the error persists and the report doesn't run again. Setting the parameter to "NULL" doesn't work either.
The only way to get the report to run again is to refresh the entire report. Of course, if at that point one has entered a bunch of other parameter values, those values all disappear.

Jul 9, 2015I added the row group to show up as the tree view in the left side of the report. But I need it to display the records in the report detail for just that group value for the records when I clicked the group value from the tree view list.

I login to a machine as user ABC. This user does not have permission on reports.
if this user accesses ReportServer or Reports, expected is that access should be denied unless I enter
an account that has been given permissions.
for e.x. following pages should be secured.

Actual result is that I am able to access these pages. When I click on the report I get the error (this is expected)
but then user ABC should be shown error on first page itself.
In short, for all the accounts that do not already have permissions on reports, the server should challenge me to enter an account and password.
Is there some setting in the configuration file?

Currently running SQL 2014 Developer Edition, SQL Server Data Tools for VS 2013, and O/S Windows 8.1 all on the laptop. I followed the video and left the default value of LocalHostReportServer. System said LocalhostReport Server could not be found.
I went to SQL Configuration Manager and tried using the Logon as the URL. Still received the same error.

Reporting Services :: SSRS 2008 - Report Builder Download To Domain Level Clients Not Working
Feb 5, 2010I have created a new SSRS Server and done all of the basic security setup for the site but I am having trouble with client machine access...At first I had an issue with being able to access report manager from any client and ended up having to shut off windows authentication on the client IE settings to get it to work. Now I am trying to run Report Builder from a client machine and it will not download. The client machine is on the same domain and my user id is set as an administrator within SSRS and as a local admin on the 2008 server.
I had the thought that without windows auth in the browser maybe it can't permit me access to the application but if I turn it on I can't get to it to download it. I have set Full Control rights to the folder as well. Most of the info out there is for 2005 and that uses IIS to host the pages where as 2008 does not. Here is the details of the error:

SQL Server 2008 :: Grant User Full Permission Within Schema Scope

1. the user has read-only permissions to dbo tales.
2. the user can do everything within the rpt schema, which contains all objects analyzing dbo tables.
3. the user does not have any permission outside rpt schema, except permissions in #1.
The current solutions are:
1. grant the user select only on dbo tables.
2. make the user the owner of rpt schema.
3. Grant the user database permission on create table/create procedure/create view/create function.
My question is - in step 3, should I just grant "Alter" database permission to the user? Granting Alter seems to be cleaner and simpler. According to MSDN,
"Alter" confers the ability to change the properties, except ownership, of a particular securable. When granted on a scope, ALTER also bestows the ability to alter, create, or drop any securable that is contained within that scope.

When I navigate to the second report, I don't pass any parameters, but I get an error "parameter is missing a value" for the multi-valued report parameter. I have it setup as allow "multi-value" and "blank value". Any idea what the issue might be?

Mar 11, 2015I have a view made up of a few base tables and another view. I have created an INSTEAD OF trigger on this view, but it doesn't seem to fire whenever a new record shows in the view. The purpose of the trigger is to insert a sister record in a table whenever a new record shown in the view. Here's the catch, the table that the trigger is supposed to insert into is not a base table within the view and the view is not an updatable view. My question is... Do INSTEAD OF triggers only affect the base table(s) within the view and does the view itself have to be an updatable view?
