Subscription Error: The E-mail Address Of One Or More Recipients Is Not Valid.

Sep 20, 2006

I have subscriptions that fail because someone's email is no longer valid,
where is this error information stored so I can fix the problem?
I have a large list and it is hard to do manually.
I will be using data driven solutions, but these are existing subscriptions that need to be ran.

SSRS Subscriptions: The E-mail Address Of One Or More Recipients Is Not Valid.

May 19, 2007

Hi There,

I try to send a report by email using SSRS subscriptions with recipients defined in an outlook email group. if 1 or more emailid are not a valid ones then SSRS does not send the report to any other valid recipients but displays the bellow error message!

"The e-mail address of one or more recipients is not valid."

In corporate companies, it is a common to find in valid/locked emailids in email group lists which can not be corrected.

Expected functionality: SSRS Subscriptions should send report email to other valid recipients in the mail group.

Could you please suggest a work around or fix the issue?

Thank you much in advance!

Regards,

Ramana

Email Subscription Reported As Successful But Not Arriving In Recipients Inbox.

Jan 24, 2007

I have a report that is sent via email to a list of recipients.  When I look at the subscription in 'My Subscriptions' the value in the Status column states that the message was 'sent successfully', however the email does not appear in the inboxes of any of the intended recipents.  The report renders OK via the browser and only takes a few seconds to process. The subscription exports the report as an Excel file.  The excel file is approx 8MB in size but this is still below the attachment size limit for internal emails within my organisation. The subscription is tied to a shared schedule. Other reports that are tied to the shared schedule are shown as successful in 'My Subscriptions' and also appear in the inboxes of recipients. All email address are correct.

I forgot to mention, the report was successfully received by all recipients until very recently and the report has not been modified since this time.

Has anyone come across this problem before.

Thanks

Mike

Subscription Error : Failure Sending Mail: An Error Has Occurred During Report Processing

Nov 16, 2007

Hello,

On the development server, I am trying to work with subscriptions . Report Server is windows authenticated.

When no paramters exist for the report, the sucbscription is successful.
But if there are paramters for the report, email delivery fails.

These are not data driven subscriptions.

Did anyone face the same problem ? Can anyone tell me where to start debugging since logfiles just say failure to send the email.

Thanks,

Subscription Parameter Not A Valid Value

Oct 4, 2007

Hi,

I'm trying to set up a data-driven subscription and having problems with parameters. On the Report Parameter Values screen of the Create Data-Driven Subscription function I have set a parameter TimesheetPeriodEnd to "Specify a static value" and checked the NULL box. In the report the parameter is type string and allows nulls. When I try to run the subscription the reports are not sent and the error log contains the following message:

ReportingServicesService!library!f!10/05/2007-09:31:08:: Status: Failure sending mail: Default value or value provided for the report parameter 'TimesheetPeriodEnd' is not a valid value.
ReportingServicesService!notification!f!10/05/2007-09:31:08:: Notification 0ae544df-4b1b-4a46-b7ab-cdefdca201be completed. Success: False, Status: Failure sending mail: Default value or value provided for the report parameter 'TimesheetPeriodEnd' is not a valid value., DeliveryExtension: Report Server Email, Report: Timesheet, Attempt 0

I am also setting other parameters for this subscription in the same way and not getting errors.

Any ideas? Previously I have had problems passing null values to parameters from the subscription query "Get value from database" from SELECT NULL AS ParameterName (this function just doesn't seem to work in SSRS). But I'm surprised I can't even seem to get this working with the default settings.

Greg

Not sure what to do to get the subscriptions back.

any Ideas/help greatly appreaciated.

The Subscription Contains Parameter Values That Are Not Valid

Mar 10, 2008

Hello,
I have something like 100 regular subscriptions.
It sometimes happen that one of the subscriptions suddenly stop to work with error "The subscription contains parameter values that are not valid". Example, one report has a dozen subscriptions, one of them stop to work. I look into the subscription and see that either one of the parameters is no longer set to a value or see nothing special besides the warning at the top of the subscription page. Parameters are all set to either default or some value(s). I reset one of the parameters, validate, or simply validate with no change and it works again.
Next time, in one or three weeks another subscription will fail, I will reset it.
Sometimes there are no errors, sometimes just 1 error and sometimes multiple errors accross reports or sometimes one report will suddenly have a few errors.
Right now, I use a weekly report to warn me after the fact of what were last week errors if any (no data, parameters unvalid, etc).
It looks like it happen with strings parameters based on datasets like "Sales offices" by example, where value and label are the same. Note that sales offices are by nature very stable, we do not change the spelling nor add remove entries. The list being a dataset gets rebuild, just to make sure we do not miss any eventual new sales office but if there is a new sales office, no one had a chance to select it as parameter value before it is in the dataset.
I am really not sure what is going on, were parameters values changed in the metadata? I do not think so.
Anyways, Is there a way to get an early warning instead of an after the fact error warning?
Is there anything else I coud try to "Refresh" or "remap" parameters values to avoid these errors?
When the subscription was created by a business analyst, If the parameters becomes blank, I have a hard time figuring out what it was when it was still valid. Is there any way to have a list of parameters values and have these values automatically "re-selected" by report server when the value gets lost?
This is not a big problem however it is annoying and people will have a bad perception of the system quality. "I created a subscription for Sacramento and never got my report", some people will also introduce garbage because they will create a new subscription instead of fixing the broken one, then they may eventually get twice the same report.
Any thought, does anyone had the same problem?

Want To Link SQL Server DB To MS Exchange E-Mail-Address Data

Mar 1, 2002

Hi all,
I'd like to link a SQL Server database / table to Microsoft Exchange Server E-Mail-Address data, for an Employee Directory project.

I've read a little about "Web Store", a little about ExOLEDB, but I've come across nothing along practical lines. I.e., I still don't know where to begin!

For example the "Web Store" should be created on the SQL server, but how do you create it? Any insights will be greatly appreciated.

SQL Server 2014 :: Passing Malformed Email Address To Send Mail Task?

Feb 5, 2015

I am implementing a fax solution (Right Fax) and pulling email information from a table and passing into a variable. In order to send out a fax via email, the syntax is in the following example below:

Example:

To send a fax from Outlook to Jane Doe at 555-1212, enter:

[RFAX:Jane Doe@/FN=555-1212]

When the following syntax gets passed into the Send Mail Task, into the "To" line and the package is executed I'm receiving the following.

[Send Mail Task] Error: An error occurred with the following error message: "The specified string is not in the form required for an e-mail address.".

[Send Mail Task] Warning: The address in the "To" line is malformed. It is either missing the "@" symbol or is not valid.

I realize it’s a malformed email address. Is it possible to create a group and instead of the fax syntax pass the group name?

E-Mail Subscription Non Delivery Problem

Mar 19, 2007

I am having a strange intermittent problem sending reports via e-mail subscription. The report will be delivered only 20-25% of the time. I have checked the SQL logs, SQL Agent logs, System, App and Secuirty logs and see nothing obvious.

I put a network monitor on the reporting box and looked at all SMTP traffic. What happens is the reporting server connects to the SMTP box, sends the From Address and gets an OK, sends the To Address and gets an Ok. Next the reporting server sends a RSET command to the SMTP and it closes the connection.

No e-mail sent, but reporting services/SQL agent indicate success. Here is a log of the

SQL Report Server Subscription E-mail Format As MS Word

Jan 22, 2007

I am wanting to set-up a subscription to e-mail my reports in MS Word format (either .doc or .rtf) and I do not have the option on my company's report server version.

I have read that it is possible, though I don't have the option. Is this a change to report server, or maybe is our version not updated?

I can e-mail the report out in the following formats:

XML File with report data

CSV (comma delimited)

TIFF File

Acrobat (PDF) file

Web Archive (default)

Excel

Let me know if I am just expecting too much, or if there is something that needs to be updated on our report server.

Thank you,

Error Sending Mail With Send Mail Task

Feb 6, 2008

I keep getting a generic "Error Sending Mail" error. For testing purposes I am just trying to send using my own email account. What goes in the SMTP Server box in the connection manager? I have tried:

A - the exchange server address (SOMETHING.us.company.com)
B - The SMTP properties I see when I look at the properties of my email address: (my.name@abcd.efgh.company.com)
C - Just the end portion of the SMTP properties: (abcd.efgh.company.com)
D - My email address (my.name@company.com)

I don't know what to enter, or what is giving me such a generic error message.

T-SQL (SS2K8) :: No Error When Sub Query Not Valid

May 16, 2014

I have a query that is coming back with all my rows from an "IN" where condition. The problem is that the query in the sub-query is invalid.

I can't recreate it exactly but in the sample here, I don't get any rows back (not sure why they are different) but why am I not getting an error?

IF OBJECT_ID('tempdb..#temp1') IS NOT NULL
DROP TABLE #temp1

IF OBJECT_ID('tempdb..#temp2') IS NOT NULL
DROP TABLE #temp2

CREATE TABLE #temp1

[Code] ...

The "SELECT LastName FROM #temp2" subquery is invalid and if you run it by itself you do get the error.

So why no error when this runs.

The other query is:

SELECT *
FROM Staging ves
WHERE ves.ssn IN ( SELECT ssn
FROM Employee )

There is no "ssn" in the Employee table (it is in a different table), I get 12,000 records back from Staging.

Why would that be the case?

Error: Forward Dependencies Are Not Valid

Jan 12, 2007

I want to set a Report Parameter on a field. The Report Parameter is called 'filter'. In the statement I put the Report Parameter in the WHERE-part:
WHERE ([DatabaseName$TableName].[FieldName] = @filter). After this I set the 'Available values' on the Report Parameter in the lay-out to Non-queried.
When the report is running, no problems.

But.....

Now I want to set 'Available values' on 'From Query' and refer to the data set, so the user can choose on which value he want to filter. But now, after running the preview the following error displays:
Error 1 [rsInvalidReportParameterDependency] The report parameter €˜filter€™ has a DefaultValue or a ValidValue that depends on the report parameter €œfilter€?. Forward dependencies are not valid.

Why can't I set the Report Parameter to 'From Query'? Anyone any suggestions???

(you can see the rest of my statement here: http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=1098540&SiteID=1)

Thx a lot of helping me out with this topic.....

I'm working with a small ISP/Hosting company and we set up a development server with NT, Site Server, SQL 6.5, and Site Site Commerce Edition. It has been working fine, but the other night their network guy assigned a new IP address to the NT server.

Now SQL server can't talk to/find the NT server. Any time you try to look at anything in Enterprise Manager, it throws the error:

DBLibrary - Server is unavailable or does not exist...general network error.

We can't figure out how/where to tell SQL Server that NT has a new IP address, and get it all working again.

Any suggestions appreciated...

Error:the String Was Not Recognized As A Valid DateTime.

Aug 31, 2007

hi all, i'm trying to insert the time/date a button was clicked on a gridview and it generates an error:the string was not recognized as a valid DateTime. There is an unknown word starting at index 0 i have changed the culture to en-US but it still doesn't work. i actually created the date/time column after some data had been entered into the table so the column allows nulls. this is my code:InsertCommand="INSERT INTO test101(Surname,Names,Registration,Login Time)VALUES (@Surname, @Names, @Registration,@Login_Time)"<Insert Parameters><asp:Parameter DefaultValue= DateTime. Now Type=DateTime Name="Login_Time" /></Insert Parameters>any suggestions?

Replication Error -Is Not A Valid Win32 Application

Apr 22, 2002

Hi all,
I have a problem is that I cannot perform the transacional replication from one server (ms-sql2k) to other server (mssqlserver).

The error show below :
Log Reader Agent - Is not a valid win32 application.

I try to setup another server (mssql2k) to do the same thing, there is no error appeared.
Therefore, I have doubt that the name of the computer using "-" will have problem. Or the registry of (ms-sql2k) may have problem because it had wrongly installed personal edition and re-installed the standard verions afterwards.

Can anyone tell me the root of the problem?
Simon
