Aug 21, 2015My mouse and keyboard (both are USB) don't work, but they are lit up. I tried replugging them, but that doesn't work. I tried using F8, but that doesn't work. I also don't have a PS/2 port, as I am running BootCamp on a Mac. I even tried using the Apple Keyboard.
Before this problem, I had issues with BAD_POOL_HEADER (BSoD) on Windows 10 after updating drivers. Checking if I had any system restores, it didn't have any that I made before the update. So, I reset my computer, with all files intact. Then my problem arises; keyboard and mouse do not work, and I'm pretty much stuck on the login screen.

Dec 20, 2015The camera on my Toshiba S50-B laptop worked fine when on the original Windows 8.1 but doesn't work now that I have upgraded to Windows 10. It says "Something went wrong - make sure your camera is connected and not being used by another application". I have tried everything I know of and find no reason. Is there another driver required or ...? I cannot even find the camera.

Feb 11, 2015I've been attempting to use applications like Teamspeak or Google Hangouts, but whenever I try to use the built-in microphone on my laptop, it doesn't work. It did work when I was using Windows 8.1. The "update driver" button only says that it's up to date.
EDIT: I have also found that the microphone appears to be turning on and off, stopping any audio when it's on.
RTM Via Upgrade - Control Panel Doesn't Work
Jul 30, 2015After an upgrade to RTM - if you try and run Control panel from the start button (right mouse) it appears but you can't do anything with it -- and it eventually disappears so you can't access any of the items on it any more.
I know you can do a lot of things in Settings via the menu -- but IMO if Control Panel doesn't work then it should be removed from any menu.

Aug 25, 2015Updated to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1 two weeks ago.
Had problems with Firefox. Tried to download to replace existing Firefox. CNET site appeared to be correct but something seemed wrong so I killed the download. But.
- The windows start menu doesn't come up when I click on the icon, but if I right-click, a text menu does appear and lets me, for example, shut down.
.- If I click on the Windows End icon in the task bar, the screen flashes but End does not come up. Ditto for the Windows Store icon.
- Somewhere SpyBot S&D was erased, but I was able to download it.
- If I double-click on a photo in Windows Explorer, I get a popup that lists the name of the jpeg and says Invalid Entry to Registry. If I right click on the photo and go to any of the options the photo is opened except if I choose Photo.
- Firefox cannot properly display the Yahoo mail page, though Pale Moon and Opera can.
- I have Avast Anti-Virus and MalwareBytes Anti-Malware and when I run their scans, they find no issues.
Missing Brightness Slider Bar
Dec 31, 2015I have NO brightness slider bar! My screen is blindingly bright and I have the monitor brightness turned all the way down!
I have looked in control panel and there is nothing there. Just a big glaringly bright white space as you can see above.
All graphics and monitor drivers are up to date. Remember, this is not a laptop, so I don't have any shortcut keys.
There is no slider bar in display setting/advanced display setting either. It's just not there. There is also no icon for brightness in the action centre tab.

Can't Get Any USB Mouse To Work
Aug 10, 2015USB flash drive works fine, printer works fine, just any mouse. The laptop is a Compaq C500. Tried updating driver in Device Manager but I get an error: windows encountered a problem installing the driver software for your device. Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it. The driver installation file for this driver is missing a necessary entry. This may be because the inf was written for windows 95 or later. I went to the Intel(R) N10/ICH7 Family USB Universal Host Controller - 27Ca and downloaded the most recent driver but when it tries to install it just says error encounter setup will cancel.

One tech support guy told me I'd have to bring my computer in to reinstall Windows 8 because it doesn't show up as an option when I tried to reset it. But ive noticed a lot of people had this problem should I take It in or do any of you have something that works so I don't have to pay.

Aug 11, 2015I have a Dell XPS 17 laptop. Worked great under Windows 7. Tried Windows 10 but was unable to get the wireless LAN driver to work, so I went back to Win 7 via the official "Go Back to Windows 7" option in Windows 10 - now the keyboard and mouse won't respond after start up. They work fine in the bios, but are completely unresponsive on the login screen - even when I boot in safe mode. No USB ports work, so I can't try another keyboard/mouse. Was going to reinstall but I'll lose the existing data. Now I'm going to have to pull the drive and copy over manually, then reinstall. Last thing I was going to try was disabling EVERYTHING in the BIOS just in case there was some kind of weird IRQ conflict, etc.

Jan 12, 2016turned my computer on yesterday and it loaded up fine, apart from there was no cursor and my keyboard wouldn't work. I have a R.A.T. 5 mouse and a Coolermaster QuickFire keyboard. I know that they're on and working because their LED's are on. I decided to plug in my old ps2 keyboard and restart my PC to enter BIOS. I checked and it recognises that the keyboard and the mouse are connected into the USB hub and says they're working. Another thing, even my ps2 keyboard doesn't work when my computer gets past the start screen!

Mar 26, 2016Having problems with Internet connectivity in windows 10 while having eset nod32 9 installed?I did the latest update to windows 10, and now my Internet doesn't work. I get an error while trying to repair of "windows sockets registry entries required for Internet connectivity are missing". I un-install eset, Internet comes back immediately.
This is a common problem, but people don't seem to be connecting it with their virus scanner. Installing free avast makes the computer go directly into repair mode and won't even boot. Windows 10 seems to not like virus scanners. It is a fresh build, OEM windows 10 home, tried to reinstall the system twice with the same results.

Jul 30, 2015I recently upgraded from windows 7 to windows 10. My mouse worked fine in windows 7, but it does not work in windows 10. Without my mouse to work with, I am lost on the computer.
Information from the Control Panel (System) is as follows:
HP pavilion dv5 notebooselectk PC , windows 10 Home , 64-bit operating system .
The mouse that I have is a Rocketfish Nano Laptop Optical Mouse.
Information from the Control Panel (Harware and Sound) (Devises and Printers) shows an icon
of the RF Nano Laptop Optical Mouse.
When I select the icon , there is information at the bottom of the page that reads:
RF Nano Laptop Optical Mouse Status: Driver error

Status: Needs troubleshooting

The (Hardware tab) in the Mouse link shows two different types of mouse.
One is a Pluralinput Mouse 0.8.2.0 and the other is a Synaptics P/S2 Port Touch Pad.
The Pluralinput information reads:

Aug 31, 2015I recently tried windows 10... didnt like it. Did the recall back to windows 7 option. Let it do its thing. Came back and my computer was trying to rapair itself... said could not reboot windows is checking for a solution.. I let it go.. it said no solution found. And just turned off..So I restarted spammed f8. Tried to start in safemode.
Got to password screen and mouse and keyboard won't work...So I restart, spam f8 again. I select repair windows this time, cancel the repair process then clicm.advanced options. Try to look at restore points... and it says none exist... that is bs. I did restore points twice a week. when. I try to start normally it loads her goes to a blue screen with tons of writing and letters and errorrs but no time to read any...

Jan 5, 2016Windows 10 went wrong Again! First I lost all my favorites, then my Computer experienced exceptions (what ever they are?) followed by random Crashes.
So I did a clean install using my ISO disc and tried to Install Page Plus X4 which was working fine before but it won't work now, even though I installed the latest patch.
I get told its an incompatible Programme, even though it worked OK before I did a clean install, with a note that says that Microsoft are looking for a Solution (you could have fooled me!) also I did the bit about using the Settings that worked on a Previous Programme but that didn't fix it either.
Also uninstalled and re installed the Programme but that didn't work either as did installing net framework.
Also when I get new emails, I am no longer getting advised of any new emails, so I have to keep checking my email box myself.
I looks like I may have to do yet another Clean Install.
I've tried turning off the Automatic Updates but that doesn't seem to work (maybe I'm doing it wrong, so how do I do that).
Screensaver Doesn't Work With Pictures
Dec 6, 2015I know some people have had issues with the screensaver not working. In my case all the screensavers work, except the one I want -pictures. I have always used pictures as a screensaver with other windows os with no problem.
What happens is I can see the pictures scrolling in the mini monitor it shows you, but when I hit preview or when it goes into action, the screen goes black. I have tried using different folders in different drives and using different pictures, but still nothing but black.
