Tried moving it down, and re-opens outside the screen all the time
Whenever I start to type in the search field, I never get to finish typing because explorer opens a new window right away after the first character.
EDIT: Also, double clicking folders opens a new window as well.
I have Windows 10..Just recently I have found that when I open a folder on my desktop which opens in maximized mode, and then go ahead and click to restore the window to a smaller size, instead of doing so, the window restores to the width of the three buttons at the top (minimize, restore, close) and then the file explorer window crashes and freezes for a few seconds, my screen goes black for a few seconds, then I am returned to the desktop, where the window has closed.Is this a sign of hard drive corruption?
View 1 RepliesWhen I start any program its window appears in background - behind others. Even it is the first program I start its windows is not active and I need to click it to make active.
That issue appeared when I was with Windows 8.1 and after upgrade to Windows 10 remains. What I have tried - changing the register value of ForegroundLockTimeout to 0 but it didn't work.
When I am typing text into just about any program, frequently and annoyingly, when I type a t, a new window opens, and never the same one. I have to click on my previous window and put the curser back where I was. It happened in Win 7 and still in Win 10. How do I stop this?
View 2 RepliesI use my computer in a business. For one of our companies I have to use Internet explorer. When I go to the form I want it takes me to the edge browser for some reason and it not typeable. The other two computers in our office work just fine.

View 1 Repliesevery time I double-click a folder in Windows Explorer, it opens in a new window. I know there have been problems on this in earlier versions of Windows.The ONLY time a folder opens in a new window, is when the folder is located in the PICTURES folder. On some occurrences, the folder I'm clicking is opening twice.
Another strange thing I noticed, is when I delete something. When I used to delete something, the folder would automatically update and remove the file without me needing to do anything. I've had windows 10 since November and just today it's been playing up. None of the apps open - they display a message "element not found" for explorer exe or for other things like chrome, ms word you click on it and nothing happens. Can't even turn off the computer (start > turn off just does nothing) I've tried pressing the power button on my PC but that just seems to put it into sleep mode and not properly restart it.

Also I will not mind if I can be directed to a third party software that can do the job for me. I am using Windows 10 on both machines.
View 2 RepliesSo, i've had windows 10 since the beta. I recently got 2 new 1tb hard drives. I was originally using one to store my files, as I have a 120gb SSD as a boot drive, and don't have enough space to store my 500+ gigs of games, after effects files and the like. When moving my files to a backup disk, it hangs like this or it says something along the lines of '0 bytes per second - more than 1 day remaining' I left it like that for quite a while (14 hours) and it hasn't moved.

View 1 RepliesI don't know when this first started happening, I just assumed stuff was transferring fast enough for it to not show up (only really moved small things). However, I got a small-ish SSD as a secondary drive for a few important things and want to test the general speed of it... but I can't, because no file transfer dialogue is showing up!!
View 3 RepliesIt starts at around 300MB/s but after a second it drops to 20MB/s. On Windows 7 it was usually around 100MB/s. This is for transferring to second hard drive. It's even slower transferring to USB drive, about 2 MB/s.
View 9 RepliesSince I upgraded to Win10 it takes FOREVER to transfer files from my SD cards via the built in card-reader. It worked fine prior on Windows 7. Now the speed meter BARELY goes above 0... The files do transfer, but it takes hours. I shoot a lot of photos, so I need to get this fixed. I did add an exclusion for explorer.exe in windows defender which was suggested by a post, but that didn't seem to do anything.

View 9 RepliesIf I tranfere big files and lots of them internally in my HDD Drive, I have noticed that if I play a videofile at the same time it will lag. I understand this is because the internal write and read speed is overloaded because of the file transfere.
What I want to know is, will the file transfere also slow down my download to the same drive, since the filetransfere is using almost all of the write speed?
Having problem with Windows photo viewer in build 10162? When I right click on a .jpg file and select the open with Windows photo viewer, the print pictures opens instead.

I have certain folders I must refer to frequently and I'd like to create a shortcut which would pop one open in a new window without having to wade through the whole drive's folder structure. This was normal on my last pc running XP but I can't seem to duplicate in Win10.
Every time I open File Explorer the window jumps to a new position (possibly a glitch). Is there a way to reset these settings through the registry?

So I upgraded to Win 10 and so far I like it, but a problem which I find annoying:
Whenever I open file explorer the window tends to move from where I placed it. What I mean is I place the window directly in the center, as I like it. When I open it again, it will be displayed at the very top of the screen. When I close it and open it again it will be displayed at the bottom of the screen on the left. The window seems to change places every time it is opened.
Nothing major, but I am OCD about keeping windows centered and organized haha so is there a way to keep the window in one spot? Is this a bug or is this supposed to happen?
When I right-click on a folder in the Navigation pane (that's the far-left window in File Explorer, right?), I see "Expand" right at the top of the drop-down box. However, it is grayed out.
If I go to File>Change Folder and Search Options, I can turn on Open Each Folder in The Same Window, but it doesn't actually work.
As things stand, if I want to move a file from one folder to another, I have to open a separate window. In all previous versions of Windows, that wasn't necessary, because you could expand all folders right in the navigation pane.
At the far bottom left corner of the desktop resides the Windows 10 logo. It is suppose to open to a menu of 3rd party apps and Windows functions.
When I click the icon with a mouse, the menu screen opens for a split second and the immediately closes. This does not allow me enough time to open any 3rd party program on the menu or to employ any of the listed Windows 10 apps.
This also means that I do not have time to click on restart or power down and must do a hard shut down pressing the power button on the computer case.
I am having an issue after using Windows 10
Before using 8.1 , when wanting to upload a certain file to a website or where ever , There is a pop up windows that let's you search to file to upload , after clicking the button on that particular website, now in Win 10 , when clicking the button the file search popup (Open dialog box) windows fails to appear and so cannot search and upload the files.
