Hi,
Could someone help with the following problem, I what to create a cross-tab report of the following data, grouped by Colour:

I am trying to export report to .CSV , but I am unable to export grouped data, instead to grouped data , it exporting detail data,for example my grouped data in matrix is as below , I need to export below data to .csvÂ

I am using ssrs 2012 using sql server 2012. I have grouped by project name in the header now it is repeating horizontally i need to repeat it by vertically using project name  grouped by column.

Hello,
I have a drilldown matrix report similar to the one below...state - drilldowns to sales person which lists the sales for a particular product...in each state there are usually more than 10 names, however i would only like to see the TOP 10 name appear for the sale off that product
My SQL is as follows
SELECT Sales,Consultant, ProductNo, State, Sum(Value) As SumOfValue,
From tblSales
where productNo = 2000
ORDER BY SumOfValue Desc;
If I put in the select TOP 10 it returns only the top 10 for all the states however i need the top 10 off EACH state, is there a way to filter this..or better yet a sort button which will show the top 10 only.
Sales for product
NSW charlie brown 25
bob snow 20
william tell 10
....50 sales reps..etc
WA Charles manson 34
fiona apple 20
peter 1 ....more sales reps etc

I can populate year sales amount, but i cant calculate the percentage.
Note: Month and Year are passed as parameters.

Seems simple. Â People working in departments with different types of hours (regular, overtime, vacation... thus the grid which pivots hours in rows to the appropriate columns). Â I want to subtotal by department, but whenever I try to add totals after to that group, I just get a grand total. Â No subtotals. Â Why?

I have a matrix report and as per the requirement, I must format the row colors. First row must be no color and second row must be light blue. This color formatting would repeat for remaining rows in the matrix. I tried to select the entire row in the matrix, selected "Background Color" option and in "Expression" window, I entered "=IIf(RowNumber(nothing) MOD 2, "White","LightBlue")".This resulted in the color formatting of columns in the matrix report.

A & B are customers. The values represent sales for each month.I have got most parts in place except the Month are displayed in random order (1,10,2,3,4,5,6 and so on).I have tried the option to create a calculated column with month numbers and change group properties but that did not work.how to get it to sort display as 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10.

I have created the matrix report which has dynamic column, it grow columns(18) based on the 'MCU' field in PRD.MI table. I have added the 'MCU'(A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H,...Q) on 'Columns' in matrix table, to create matrix report and I have added 'mcst' on 'Data' in matrix table and I have added the 'msp2' on 'Rows' in matrix table. I have created new column after row and I added USP2DS.Final output is as given below.I need the split the matrix column per page.
I have added the 'MCU' on "Column group and 'msp2' on Row group.

I have created a matrix report having  "Probability"  in Row and "Impact" in Column  and "Risk ID" in Data Part .
Now the problem which I am facing is I need to fill matrix with different color value based on combination of Probability and Impact.
I am able to write the expression in "Fill" area of "Risk_ID" text box but the problem is only those text box gets colored which are having Risk-Id value in it like shown below.I want all text box to be colored even if no Risk_Id is there in any text box.
I am trying writing the correct logic so that all text box gets colored even if there is no Risk _Id in it.

I have a dataset with weekly salary of multiple employees of same grade from different dpt. We are not going to show the report based on employ. The report will be showing data based on Employee grade and their department.
Grade        Dpt       wk1         wk2         wk3       wk4
manager    hr         3000         2500        1000      2000
senior         hr          1300         1500        1300      1600
manager    hr          2500         2300        2100       3000
We need to show the result by grouping grade and dpt. So the Wk1 rate will be the sum of (3000+2500).
Grade       Dpt        wk1           wk2        wk3      wk4     Total
manager   hr           5500        4800        3100       5000      18400 (how to find???)
senior       hr           1300         1500        1300      1600      5700(??)
Total                       6800         6300       4400       6600      24100(??)
How to find the total for each row on the right most end ?

We mark cells in  a report using color names like red, pink, and transparent in the fill expression. In the browser it works correctly. When exported to Excel the colors go to the wrong cells. This worked correctly in SSRS 2008.Â

Hello Everyone,
I have been tasked with creating a report using Reporting Services from an excel report that was wasting a lot of manual effort and time. I have searched boards and I am having the hardest time trying to find a way to do the following in Reporting Services within a Matrix:
Spring Summer Fall
2005 2006 2007 %Change 2005 2006 2007 % Change 2005 2006 2007 %Change

I can not find out how to do a percent change (the column in red) subtracting just the final or most right two columns of the resulting matrix columns, not an average or some other function over the entire row....
Please help, I know others have had the same issue...

I've always user over with partitioning however recently I am looking at some other code and they have calculating percentages using over. I'm at a lost on why you would do this.
Example would be
CAST(TABLE1.UNIT AS DECIMAL (6,2)) / SUM(TABLE2.UNIT) OVER () AS UNIT_%
What about be the advantage of using OVER there?

here's my code...
DECLARE @Output FLOAT
SELECT @Output=(@Part/@Whole)*100
When I substitute my parameters like this:
SELECT @Output=(5/20)*100
The answer is always 0.0!
But if I do this:
SELECT @Output=(5*100)/20
I get the correct answer.
Why is this so?
What is the correct way in SQL to calculate percentage??!!!

I have a query which provides the total number of each of 2 invoice flags per month, starting 1st Feb this year. I also need a percentage calculated for each of the 2 flags by month. However, it is showing the totals correctly for each of the flags by month, but the percentage is using the total of both flags for all months, and so it is wrong if I only want to look at one month. The query is as follows along with a sample output including % which are incorrect.
How can I correct this so that it shows the right % for each of the flags for each month?

I have an expression in a group that calculates percent of sales:
=iif(Sum(Fields!BOOKD.Value)=0,0,IIF(Sum(Fields!NET.Value)=0,0,((Sum(Fields!BOOKD.Value)-Sum(Fields!NET.Value))/Sum(Fields!BOOKD.Value))))*100
The problem I'm having is that if both the
Sum(Fields!BOOKD.Value)=0 and
Sum(Fields!NET.Value)=0 ,
the expression returns the message #ERROR instead of a 0.
I have the initial query set to display 0 if the value is null.
,SUM(ISNULL(R.BOOKD,0))BOOKD
,SUM(ISNULL(R.NET,0))NET
I would greatly appreciate any help on how to solve this issue.

We run 2014 enterprise. I tried this with both table and matrix controls to no avail.
In the table scenario, I drag the table control over, instruct ssrs that a group name will go into column 1 and a sales figure in column2. Then I highlight the sales figure cell, add a column group on month number and generate my report off some june and july data.
ssrs understands that the months now expand horizontally but the rows alternate one with june filled in (blanks in july) and the next with july filled in for the same group name. I believe I got all my sort by conditions set but am not sure.Â
I tried all sorts of combos in the tablix and group properties before giving up.

I got the following code to add a column in a matrix with a variance:

This code works fine, except that the first row of the matrix shows an #error
This happens with each matrix where I use this expression. A warning emerges:
rsruntimeerrorinexpression the value expression for the textrun Textbox43.Paragraphs[0].TextRuns[0]' contains an error.
Attempted to divide by zero.
The strange thing is that the part
Fields!year.Value=First(Fields!year.Value,"Category")
should prevent an error and I expect it to show 'nothing'
An screenshot of the table. (each color is a different category. Each row stands for 2013, 2014, 2015)
As you can see, all other 2013 rows show a blank cell, except the first row.

I have got this matrix and I am trying to calculate the average amount of working days in a month. At the moment, I have divided the total number of jobs by 21 for every month which is a hard coded value. However, I am not sure how to retrieve this value dynamically. Is there any formula that can find out the working days?

I have a report which shows up as below,
Product Type - A
Product Name  - 1
Product Price - Â 1
Product Name - 2
Product Price - 2
Product Type - B
Product Name - 1.1
Product Price - 1.1
Product Name - 2.1
Product Price - 2.1
Product Name - 3.1
Product Price  - 3.1
Similarly i have different Product types and product names and its prices underneath each product type. As you can see, there might be varied number of products under the product type so i am grouping it on Product type. The issue is when i export the report to pdf or word, when ever we have a big group of Product Type( example: Product Type X and it has 10 different Products under it) along with few other smaller groups, the big group tends to jump on to the next page of word or pdf and leaves a big empty space in the previous page. Any way i can break those big groups and  fit  as many as we can on the page and the rest should follow onto the next page rather than leaving the previous page with blank space.Â

I have a DB table which records the datetime each time a viewer changes TV channel. The report is a summary by user of each channel change By Day Part with Each Date
I can do this easily enough by just grouping on Date but now require another level of detail.

I have a report that is a little wide, and when I export it to an Excel file it spans about 2 pages. I have it set to an 8.5 height and 11 width for printing in landscape on normal-sized paper. But is there a way to make sure that the report exports with the printing page break covering the entire width so that the report prints only one page across? The users don't want to resize in Excel before printing.

I have a SSRS report. I am displaying TOP 10 Stores by sales by creating a filter on group Store. It has 3 row groups (Store, brand, product).
There is no column group. In each cell, I am using sum function in expression (Sum(Fields!TotalSales.Value).
I am adding Totals by going on Group properties, but I am getting totals of all the rows not the total of all the groups within my Store level (which is my top Parent group).
Store   Total sales(CW)  TotalSales(LW)

I want subtotal =12 AND 6 under respective columns . ALSO, my store (A, B, C) can be expanded into Brands and brands into Products. I tried using running value but its not working as I have 3 groups within Store row parent group and I am doing a SUM on each group.

SQL Server Reporting Services 2005 (SSRS) is installed on Vista Ultimate.
I cannot access to the http://localhost/ReportServer page. IE posts an internal error HTTP 500.0 (after IE required a Windows account).
All the configurations of Reporting Services are OK. In the Log file, there is nothing: the Web Services does not seem to be launched.

I have a table on my form and each row contains data from a query.
I have a 'Total' row at the bottom and want to add up the above rows. Id rather not do this in the query itself.
Is it possible to do it from the layout view?
