I've got a problem with my second laptop, acer aspire e15-551P. After I upgraded my windows to 10, voice totally disappeared also sound card cannot be found. Already downloaded and installed all available drivers from acer site. Still doesn't work.
View 6 RepliesFor the past few months, the right touchpad button does not work with the Windows 10 drivers. Windows 8.1 drivers worked fine. If I switch mouse settings to left handed, then the buttons work fine, but obviously this is awkward to get used to. I have rollbacked the driver to a very old edition and it worked fine, however then I had no synaptics touchpad settings so the touchpad settings could not be altered.
19.0.9.7 is the synaptics version
touchpad works fine on other user accounts
I have installed intel's driver detection tool and it informed me that I have a custom driver installed by the manufacturer. Acer site scanned my pc and found new driver VGA 10.18.15.4248, which i downloaded but upon installation tells me is the wrong driver for my pc. I have upgraded(haha) from win8.1 to 10, not sure if this is part of the problem. This driver was released 7/15. I ran windows driver updater and it tells me the driver I have, the only one btw, is current. I have tried to contact both Acer and Intel and get no answers.

After tolerating a couple of glitches (track pad not scrolling, right speaker down, tiles at start menu not displayed, some icons not visable on task bar) I can now not boot up. The windows 10 logo appears with a rotating 'we'll get there sometime' device for a short while, after which the screen flickers black then grey/blue. It does not reach sign in, there is no cursor and it stays this way, although it will shut down ready for me to try again. I have tried hitting F8 during this but with no effect. F2 brings up set up, but how I can get back in to it?
My Laptop will not sleep. It's an Acer Aspire 5250 Series Laptop. Below is the screenshot of the issues that I have ran and found from Command Prompt.

View 1 RepliesI have a problem with my Acer Aspire 5943G. I just upgraded from Windows 7 Home Premium OA to Windows 10 Home, and then updated Windows 10 until there were no updates showing. A couple problems appeared which I was able to fix but not a particular one; When I startup the laptop it all goes smoothly but when it gets to the login screen (clock with the background), my screen's backlight suddenly turns off.
I can still see the faint screen info if I shine a bright light in it. If I restart it, it fixes the problem though. This is rather frustrating as I cannot expect when it will happen (right now it happened when I turned it on from hibernation, sometimes it happens with a normal shutdown and startup). My GPU is ATI mobility radeon HD 5650. Also having a sound issue. I can get the sound to work through headphones, but not through the speakers.
I have an Acer Aspire laptop that used to have Bluetooth on it. I just recently noticed that all evidence of Bluetooth has disappeared from the OS. The Bluetooth module that I am using is:
Bluetooth 4.0 + HS, the two drivers listed on the support portal for my model number are an Atheros Wifi/BT combo and a Broadcom. I can't tell since there since the OS doesn't see it.
First thing I tried is to download and install both drivers from the manufacture's site (Acer Support). Both installers did not detect the BT module being present and ended prematurely.
The computer is a Acer Aspire E15 with 4gb RAM and Amd E2 Chip. It was originally running Windows 8.1 but I recently updated to windows 10 and I got the Irql not less or equal bsod. I can't access anything because it just goes back to the bsod.

I just want to get my laptop running at this point and probably go back to windows 7. dont mind losing my files cus most were backed up

I thought it might be due corrupt instalation file or something. I tried other copies but it gives same error. I don't know what it means. I tried searching on the net, but I didn't find anything. I have an Acer Aspire 7750g laptop for like 5 years now. Updating it's graphics card would result in having lines randomly flicker all over the screen horizontally. This is the reason I did not update it's drivers. Now that Windows 10 has released, it seems to have update it automatically which is irritating. I've searched in the internet some ways to fix it and tried one of them: Underclock the Memory Clock by 50 MHz in MSI Afterburner. This did not work at all. What I have done is I have underclocked the Core Clock by 50 MHz aswell and still no result. I've kept these two that way and restarted my laptop to hope that this might fix it, I was wrong. I have tried going into safe mode and that's where I get the BSOD that says Kernel_Data_Inpage_Error. I have also enabled the low-resolution video mode, still no result.What I could do is reinstall the operating system but I'd like to keep that as my last option as I do not want to lose my files and I don't know if my windows 7 key will be accepted while installing windows 10 from a flashdrive.
Neither ASUS nor Creative Sound audio cards will process "Mic" input from the back panel. I have updated the vendor drivers to Windows 10. I have tried "update," "disable," and "uninstall" approaches in the Device Manager. Audacity doesn't work. I'm trying to copy old LP's and can see that there is some actively in the segmented graphs but no usable throughput to be recorded or listened to in the speakers.

This is an HPG60 214 EM laptop, using a Conexant High Definition SmartAudio 221 driver vn 4.0.44.0, dated 2008.An attempt to update shows this is the latest, as do (er hum) a couple of driver update programs.Ashampoo says I need to contact HP, but HP only supported this laptop to Win 7 (it came with Vista).why a few progs don't work and most do would be welcome. I assume this is some sort of low level interface issue which has become apparent in upgrading to Win 10. So far other posts I've found have been about no sound at all after upgrading.
After I upgraded from Win 8.1,
1. Ashampoo programs would not find my (Conexant SmartAudio 221) sound card - Ashampoo looking into this promising a fix after diagnostics - but for weeks now.
2. Audacity would not run beyond v 2.03 (which is reported by others on their forum).
That was 32 bits.
I tried a clean install, 64 bits, and to my surprise, no problem with Ashampoo progs or Audacity 2.1.1.
I'll be using my 32 bit installation whilst I slowly configure the 64 bit version for quite a while.
Other than clean booting, and trying to identify possible conflicts, is there any more specific area I could look at? I have quite a lot of multimedia programs installed.
My laptop does not want to recognise the sound card/audio driver that are built into it. The fun part is this just happened. Audio played yesterday, and the time before that, and even before the upgrade. The only thing that has changed (or at least is the biggest change i can think of) is downloading and installing Cygwin (sans audio packages). In trying to play a song on the new microsoft Groove, i get this;
Further inspection in the playback devices, the only two options are the Speakers/Headphones and communications Headphones, the former of which i can only assume is my actual computer speakers (otherwise its completely gone!).Looking at the device manager, everything seems okay. All the drivers are up to date so im not sure what could be wrong there?
Its Windows 10 pro (upgraded from Win7 Pro) and the computer is a Dell Precision M4600. (I am pretty sure the audio driver is in the device manager image).

View 2 Repliesafter upgrading to Windows 10 (from Windows 7) whenever I pause and play the video again it will freeze for a few minutes and the video will fast forward.
I thought it's because of the player, so I change to 5KPlayer (previously PotPlayer) but still no luck. Sometimes, whenever I open my hard drive ( H: ) it will freeze and stop responding.
The Conexant HD Audio Sound Driver was replace by High Definition Audio Device after i update to Windows 10 Home Version 1511 from 1011
Now if i want to plug my earphones to the left side of the computer where the audio jack socket is located the sound does not transfer to my earphones except i will change the default sound device from speakers to headphones.
How can i set it to automatically when i plugin my headphones/earphones/external speaker automatically transfer the sound to this device without changing the settings?
I just bought this sound card and installed drivers for Windows 10. (and a crapton of bloatware with UI of Win XP media player...)
Everything works well except one thing: when I change the sound (or mute) I don't see Windows 10 volume bar. I mean these:
The sound itself changes, but there is no indicator. Is there a way to fix that?
I just installed the most recent windows 10 tech preview last night; but my sound blaster pci express sound card did not get installed correctly or something because i am getting no sound at all. I roll everything back to the old setup.
View 9 RepliesOn installing Win !0 there was no wireless function, but win 10 initialised the card however when the laptop sleeps the card drops out and it has to be reset every time the card is Intel(R) Pro/Wireless 3945ABG. If the laptop is kept awake there is no problem
View 5 RepliesI have installed Windows10 on a Gateway FX530 desktop PC. All has gone well with one exception. The OS seems to recognize that there is a card reader attached, I can see them through Device manager. When I insert a SD card the system completely ignores the device and will not allow me to access it. I have tried to change the drivers, without success. This card reader worked just fine with Windows 7 Pro and there was no indication that they would not work with Windows 10 when I ran the upgrade test.
